alpax unfortunately I do not. All I know is this: I played there, won some, they sent me free room offers.

Red Rock has great rooms, atmosphere and decent eateries. Besides VP, they have a neat bingo game. Glad you are having a great time Phil.

Thank you Ted for the response. I recalled that you preferred the Rio All Suite Hotel as your primary base when you get to Vegas despite getting room offers at Red Rock. I believe since Red Rock had a good selection of one of your favorites, DreamCard, you went to play there and had a good run. That has earned you free room offers despite winning. I might explore Dreamcard as the best possible chance to get a room offer.

I can stay just one night at the Red Rock for free during the middle of the week from redeeming LPs from the Playstudios mobile games, I just have to pay taxes and the resort fee.

alpax I actually didn't play DreamCard at Red Rock last time I was there. Red Rock has a video slot called: "Treasures of Troy" that I enjoy playing. One previous trip to Las Vegas I played some 5 play .25 Deuces Wild at Red Rock and I was dealt 4 deuces. That was fun.

I was thinking about staying at M next trip to Las Vegas.

Sorry Ted for assuming the wrong information of your play at Red Rock. I will try to not do that again.

Recorded play on the video slots does significantly increase the chance at offers. I've played a good amount of Treasures of Troy and Wolf Run nickel slots side by side in the past. Those were pretty expensive per pull.

The quality of life at the Rio is going down, only the WSOP is keeping it somewhat relevant. The M Resort is an outstanding place, but I have regretted not planning on staying there since they did not have Jacks or Better.

I love the M, and it's a beautiful property, but it's just so in the middle of nowhere. I think the South Point is the closest casino to it, and even that's a few miles away. Plus they're just 'meh' on the video poker front.

I do like though that if you run just $850 through a video poker machine you can get a free lunch buffet (on weekdays). I've done that a few times, because I love their buffet!

But quarter "Airport Deuces" with 96 "free" craft beers to choose from doesn't sound too "meh" to me. But I'm also pretty good at playing slow... Hope to get back there in about two weeks!

You may be right about SP being the closest neighbor though. We went to M down LV Blvd the whole way once. It looked pretty dead beyond South Point. :(

Were back from our Vegas trip.  Nice flight and no drama.  The trip started out a little weird when the Avis clerk messed up our rental car booking.   They had us picking up the car at the Bellagio when we wanted it at the rental car center.  She took my American Express card and wanted to upgrade me to a car for $650.  I canceled the contract and called the 800 Avis line while standing in line, booked another car for $290 and fixed the problem until she misplaced my credit card.  I told her she had it and she said I never gave it to her.  While still in line, I called American Express and canceled my card.  She called me 5 minutes down the road to tell me she found my card. I don't think we'll be using Avis again anytime soon.  The Red Rock and South Point were great and the entire Vegas experience was eye opening. We used to go to Vegas years ago before we got into VP.  We always stayed on the Strip.  We quit going when it became over developed and the sidewalk was covered with people giving out free peep show cards.  When you play VP, you look for different things than a first time tourist. When you get into the Vegas VP scene, the first thing you notice is the odds difference.  The second thing is the fact that there are actually two games going on, VP and the Comp game.  There are so many freebies and extras involved in Vegas gambling it's hard to imagine until you experience it.   I can see how a good player can play even here and count the comps as winnings.  Counting them isn't an entirely fair comparison if you are comparing your actual VP results with a Vegas player, but it's a significant part of your profit none the less. At the Dancer level, I'm sure you could live a pretty good lifestyle from the comps alone.  The VP odds differences are dramatic.  The lowest deuces wild pay schedule at the Red Rock was Airport Deuces.  NSU is common and they have a small bank of full pay deuces in quarters. 9/6 Jacks is everywhere along with 8/5 Bonus Poker and 9/6 DDB.  I'm sure I could have found full pay DDB if I had wanted to.  The pay schedule at South Point is about the same.   As pointed out earlier, at South Point you can convert your play credits to cash.  This alone would be enough to make me a customer.  Here's a picture of the NSU machines at the Red Rock.  They even labeled them so an old man like me can find them.  We played VP solid from Sunday night until Thursday evening, only taking time out to eat, sleep and whatever came to mind.   I don't know how many hands we played between us, but it was significant.  Except for a few hours on my part, we played NSU exclusively.   I tried full pay DW for a while, but wasn't sure of the strategy changes and I know NSU cold.  To test the "gind it out" strategy, we played max coin quarter single line DW the entire time.  My wife is a very accurate player.  In fact I would put her accuracy against anyone on this forum.  She has a way with numbers that's pretty amazing.  Anyway, she hit two sets of quad deuces the entire trip.  She does make a few small changes in her strategy going for the royal on all non deuce two card Ace high hands.  This gets her a lot more wild royals and an occasional royal flush that I won't see.  The last day at South Point she had the most incredible run of wild royals I have ever seen.  She must have hit 8-10 of them in about 30 minutes.  At the end of the trip with all that play, she lost $250 over the entire period.  I would say that's a win.  Compare this with our play at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi where we averaged $1,000 in loses each trip.  I use the strategy from Video Poker for winners and occasionally make a mistake. I would say I'm only about 99% accurate because I tend to play too fast.  On Tuesday morning about 6 AM, I hit this royal.  I was all by myself in the casino with their great sixties music playing and no distractions.  It came out of nowhere and was a very nice way to wake up.  A played some slots and actually hit a few jackpots.  I also hit two quad deuces for $250 each over the trip.  I would say my slot play was about even.  At the end of the trip, I was up about $400 overall.   I think our results were typical.  If you pick the right game, play accurately and stay within your most comfortable denomination, you can play near 100% low variance VP games practically for free.  We're already talking about going back.

Coming home a winner in Vegas is amazing with the addition of the comps & Vegas experience. Congratulations!

Probably the best trip report I've ever read from Phil by far. I think overall, Phil's knowledge of succeeding in VP has significantly increased.

By the way (BTW), you can also redeem points earned on Boarding Pass for cashback too. If you play on Wednesday, you get MyGeneration benefits as a senior.

DW is indeed tougher than DDB and Jacks to master, I also put in the time training, I think I can similarly match your and the Mrs's accuracy too.
