The employee who told you that should be fired.
I would like to point out that this $100,000 royal was hit with an A-Q Hold. If this player had been playing deuces wild using perfect math strategy, he would have missed it. Of course that wouldn't matter to some as he would have been playing accurately according to the math. The fact that math would have cost him $100Gs is of little consequence. Just say'n...

How would you know for certain that it came from an employee? Very quick to pull the trigger, firing an employee can sometimes be expensive to a business.

The person plays mostly $2 or $5 Bonus Poker and some DDB if he feels lucky, but will give a few shots of $25 denomination on occasion on his business trips to Vegas. He did write up a personal rant on his old forum about holding a high pair over 3 to a royal when he went with the high pair and the other 2 royal cards popped up. So I am guessing he goes for it too if he plays by feel.

I'm just kidding around. I think the firing thing is pretty funny.

I understand now, employee termination is really an uneasy process to go through in general. I've had various casino employees told me stories of high rollers winning big and then losing it all or how messed up their lives become of their uncontrolled habits; it is not confidential information to the casino business so it was not a firable offense.
One story I heard from a table game dealer was a person won over $120,000 on a slot progressive and then lost it all in the next week of live poker. The casino will retain the image of that person winning on that wall of fame despite some people knowing that person no longer having possession of those winnings.
I heard Mr. Trump has trademarked "You're Fired" for his past "The Apprentice" reality TV show. Future reality shows will have to come up with some other way to inform an employee is going to no longer be with the company.
I've seen one hit in Tunica at Harrahs a few years back. The lady that hit the royal was the only one I had ever seen play at the $25 level for extended periods and she was there pretty often. I've seen people take pot shots at the $25 level but she would play for hours. I was told she had lost $64K the night before playing the same machine.
$64k sounds like a lot (and it is), but then again not really, when you realize it's the same unit-wise as losing $640 on a 25c machine, which you can easily do, especially on a game like DDB or TDB.
That's true, it's all about the same depending on how big a bankroll one is willing to lose. Video poker is tough in my area because of the 4% state tax on all winnings above the $1K level, there's no getting that 4% back at the end of the year regardless of how much one might lose playing. The best pay tables are on high volatile games and my experience has been that I always end up on the bad end of the volatility scale.

I'm guessing she was just repeating what the lady who hit the $100K royal told her, how else would she know. I've hit many royals for 8K over the years and people always gather around and gawk, some ask questions and I tell them quick "I paid for that royal".
