Re: Help me understand
About 1000 hands per trip, so once a month is a shade behind schedule. Still, I will buy an index card notebook for my bag to record quirky, exciting stuff like 4/RF. It's annoying as hell. You know that you will only convert one in two hundred, if that.
Even though it seems you never connect on these things, if you actually kept track (few, if any, people do), you would very likely find the hit rate to be a lot better than one in two hundred.

The regulars at the casino have said the same thing as myself but like me they said they live with it because they hit so many more Royals at this casino.

Okay, that's all that matters. I had a 4/RF during FP on Sat and happened to max coin the hand. Zero return. The only hand that really excites me on the deal.

At this one casino I have had 6 dealt royals, in over 20 years of play at all the other casinos combined I've only hit one. I did have a conversation with a machine tech an d he claimed it had to do with something called AVPP or Advanced Video Poker Platform. He was telling me about a dealer he once knew that could shuffle the cards and tell people what cards he was about to give them, The tech says the games have gotten smarter and there's more to the game than just a simple RNG.

There is actually a book written where the author puts in an amendment right before it was published as he found out more information about the newer machines and he explains on how the "new" Video Poker Machines are different.
He explains how each hand now goes through 2 processes which limits the number of winning hands and does not violate regulations. I posted about it when I first read it but I can find my post now.

"Does not violate regulations"...hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahha
Hope you didn't pay for that book...it wasn't written by "fa la la la la" was it??
And here is the original thread you discussed this in.
http://forum.videopoker.com/forum/forum ... =7537&PN=1
And my original response to it on 8/18/2015:
Once again...ILLEGAL with a vast majority of state laws.
And if it truly paid back the same percentage, why would the casino rig the variance of the game?? The casino actually wants a little variance! Otherwise, no one would play!!!
Edit: Notes explains a scenario where altering variance may help the casino. But once again...still ILLEGAL.
I probably was a little more blunt than usual thanks to beer that August night. But yeah, the point still stands. Illegal.

OMT because the mere mention of the author's name elicits a response from the Webmeister here that if you were to be made the target of; you would surely beg for death.
I will give you a hint as to the name of the auther:
First name Rob, last name rhymes with zinger.

First name Rob, last name rhymes with zinger. Oh, that bozo. Well, that certainly explains things.

The auto modification to Vman's comments was a big clue for me.
