While I would not use your strategy I will say if it works for you, I wouldn't change it. Unlike this forum, there is no one in the casino with a strategy police badge that will "smite" you for playing anyway you want. I could give you a dozen reasons why this strategy is not the best, but it's not my money it's yours.

Speaking of money in the box. Any one else play around the time they collect the money boxes from the machines. I do all the time at different casino's. Sure it may be my own imagination or coincidence but the machines always seem to dry right up when they clean them out and put an empty box in. Too often IMO.

Phils post is in a nutshell exactly what is wrong with this forum.
Look up to the top. What section is the forum located in?
Is it under Play? Under Shop? No, its under Learn.
As in education.
Every other forum I post on, people are there to help each other learn and get better at the games.
Not here. Newcomers see people with a bazillion posts advocating horrible methods and either leave to other sites or stick around thinking their voodoo system works.
Here people commiserate with each other and say stuff like its your money, play as you want.
On any other site, except maybe Gambling Forum, a half dozen posters would explain why this particular strategy is not effective long term and try to show why.
Problem is this site doesn't even have a half dozen regulars anymore.
An educated player is a casino's nightmare but instead of trying to educate each other, you reinforce nonsense about smart machines and cold cycles, playing to lose less and try to ridicule anyone who tries to say it doesn't have to be that way.
This doesn't have to be the Losers Lounge of gambling forums. Unfortunately, the few remaining regulars, all long time players who seem to take pride in their losses, make it so.
I'm confused.
Now that the machines have gotten smarter, do they prefer not to played? By not paying out like they used to, they don't get the same interactions with humans.
Do you think they simply like sitting there unplayed?
Do they treat smokers differently than non smokers?
Is there any one bill they like over others?
I often pound the same machine for hours on end. After awhile I break it's will. When it realizes I'm not going anywhere, most machines will straighten up and fly right.

Fully expected you to be the one to attack first and that's fine. I should have been a little more specific when I said the machines don't see anywhere near the amount of play they used to have. Most casinos in this area have added .05 denomination to the menu of all the machines so the machines do get play, what you see is very few people brave enough to tackle $1 and above denominations, and for good reason in my opinion. I'm pretty thick skinned so feel free to attack any and all of my comments. We have 13 casinos in this area, 3 of them are still doing pretty good, all the rest of them are very small market casinos. I've played each and every one of these casinos for extended periods of time and I'm convinced there is a difference, all I have to do is review my results, proof is on paper. The pay tables are the same for the games I play at any of these casinos but my results are far different when it come to the small market casinos versus the casinos that still draw players willing to play the larger denominations. I've spent years trying to accept the belief you have, which is that the machines don't have a clue as to whether I'm playing $5, $2, $1 or .05 denomination vp and I don't buy into that anymore. I would love to see someone like yourself come to this area and prove me wrong but in my opinion you would end up just like me and so many other players in this area and walk away confused. To me it's pretty simple, picture the vp machine as just a simple box, if 95% of the people walk up and stick $5 worth of nickels in the box and are allowed to reach in and grab a handful of what's in the box it seems to me that if I walk up to the box and throw $500 worth in the box and going to get burnt pretty bad when I grab my handful. That's the way it was explained to me by more than one casino employee, there's just not that much money in the boxes anymore.
Refresh my memory. Where are you located, again? How close are the 13 casinos?

Since taxes are mentioned in the original context.

The 4 Aces with a Kicker at $3 wager will yield a signer with a $1200 payout. It happens more often than the Royal Flush.

Those looking to play in Wisconsin has to be aware of the special tax laws set in place there.

However for the serious player evaluating this methodology:

Some people have access to 9/6 DDB machines that offer Quarters / Half Dollars / Dollars denominations, a more cost effective way to play this system will be to switch denominations and play at MAX coins so that the Player does not sacrifice EV.

This system will require the player to master two sets of strategy, one at 250 for 1 Royal Flush payout and another at 800 for 1. The 250 for 1 strategy is not a simple adjustment.

The $3 wager costs the player 20% more to play than the $5 wager for 9/6 DDB in the long run.

I recall you called out this forum last night. Poor memory and the lack of initiative to find the answer yourself will prevent you from achieving success.

I do not share ko king's beliefs, the casino region is located in Tunica, Mississippi

[
Newcomers see people with a bazillion posts advocating horrible methods

Which forum members might that be? Look at the activity on this forum. Other than DaB and TedLark going after each other, we have you restating the same misinformation in two or three threads weekly, we have guys talking about cold cycles and now how machines are getting smarter. When did the last real player join and stick around? Why do you think this forum gets two or three new threads a week while others get that many new members in a day?

Hmmm. If "less inert", the implication is they were more controlled by the house. Who among us doesn't assume -- especially in cold spells -- that the machines have been "adjusted" from their -- shall we say -- normal inertness. Less inert = more controlled by the house. Defies logic, but we do wonder, don't we?

Not so, it would seem, if one holds a disciplined loss limit and quits before "the long run."

I guess I am willing to sound retreat so as to play another day. Getting hammered and staying hammered -- often to ground zero -- is just not as much fun for me.

Come Thursday, I'll be playing with $500 of house money. Will let you know how it goes.
