Re: My Journey on Video Poker
Well I guess it can’t be all puppies and rainbows as we give back -$300 on .25c full pay deuces today. Just couldn’t get enough going including landing 4 ducks or royal.
Cheers

Another grind of .25c full pay deuces. Started with $300 and it looked like it was going to be a slow drop to zero. At one point was down to $40 left. But started hitting hands and at around the $180 mark finally was able to pop the 4th deuce after saving three. So leave this session up +$117.50.

Time for a vacation away from video poker...
Just completed a session matching my biggest loss in .25c full pay deuces, -$600. For a game that is supposed to be positive, it can be just as brutal and fickle a mistress as 6/5 jacks. To add insult to injury, one of my last spins was a flopped aces with kicker and hit another one earlier in the game. (Not to mention, the -300 loss two sessions ago also contained two aces with kickers, but who's counting lol).
It's neither here nor there, but a bit of salt in the wound from the vp gods.
Full pay is usually not so brutal and usually why it's one of the games I enjoy playing. Variance is low, high ER, and can last a long time on a short bankroll. However, it can fall victim to an unfortunate run of the RNG just like any other video poker game.
I can only imagine what triple double bonus players go thru on similar cold streaks. Yowza.
Anywho, the last two months has been pretty lousy vp wise, and all signs says to take some time off which I will do. Playing vp while on tilt, or not enjoying it, or a depleted bankroll...never a good thing. We all need vacations from time to time and I need one and all signs are pointing to one.
So, when I jump back on the vp horse, you will all know it by my next blog on the thread. Cheers and better luck to y'all.

So I’ve taken a bit of a vacation from posting on the site, and back to put up to speed.
Very quick synopsis from memory...
Single line $1 job= -$500
.25c 5 play deuces= +610, +700, +810
.50c single line nsud=-$1,000
And today’s session of .25c 5 play deuces=+$1,000
Hit a pretty royal and two deuces.
I’ve been playing more on WSOP.com, online poker for money with three participating states so far, Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey. My results have been terrible lol good on the sit and gos and tourneys, but lousy on the cash. Should stick to my strengths.
Anyway, I hope all is well and you are all hitting lots of jackpots out there.
Cheers,
~D

Once in awhile being stubborn pays off...
Played .25c 5 play deuces tonight and it started off very well. Bought into it with the usual $500 bankroll, was up to $720 in about an hour. No deuces or Royal, just some solid hits here and there. Then the slide downward came. Told myself I would stop when I was up a hundred, I didn’t. Stop up fifty, I didn’t. Primarily because I had time to play more and felt fine. So why stop? Well, lost the $500 roll and my $40 in free play in the next hour.
Usually at this point I walk away shaking my head and come to fight another day, but had $60 left in my pocket and figured might as well polish that off too. Not to be as I hit a quad deuce that kept me alive long enough to flop the quad deuce for $1250 and turn a bad session into quite a good one. So +800 for this one and onward and upwards.
Cheers!
P.S. two previous sessions -$500 and +40, (for those keeping score)

Next time you're dealt that hand, make sure you're playing $100, 5 play TDB!!
