Am half-way thru the 117 pages, starting from page one. Had to make two interim comments. the honesty shines thru, at least so far, and it doesnt really matter if the glass is half-empty or half-full, there is clearly room for more wine.

Hope your luck lately turns around Dan! Dan has more than luck on his side, he has a #2 attached to the right chromosome somewhere in his brain. Seriously i have finished up to date on this thread( all 118 pages) the honesty still shines thru. Great work dan but how the hell do you remember extended sessions in such detail? I HAVE Trouble remembering the card of my last quad five minutes later. Too much cheap beer i guess, although the last few years i have converted to one or two good craft beers, but i fear it is too late. One more comment,i have noticed a definite lack of eletist/egotists on this thread. What a relief!!! In case anyone asks, no i don't have anything better to do than read 118 pages. No casino trip until monday. LOL to all.

Thanks for taking that kind of time tech58. Good to hear people are reading it and at least getting something out of it. Nothing worthwhile is easy, and it’s esp. true with video poker. Reading these can perhaps point somebody on Some what to do aspects of vp; but more importantly, perhaps what not to do! lol
Cheers!

Thanks for the comment Dan.Learned a few and noticed more than a few similarity's to my own experience. Having "tilted" more times than i care to remember,i was wondering if you feel,as i do that the pain-scale for losses is like the Richter scale, where each gradient of loss is 10 times as painful as the last, while the joy-scale for wins is linear. What i am trying to say is that the painful sick-puppy rides home after an a$$whooping are not compensated equally for by the joy of an equal sized win.Can you share your thought's with us on this "painful" subject?

This session I decided to tackle a decent looking .25c bonus deuces progressive with 4 ducks and an ace at $800, a royal at over $1400. Did manage to sneak a quad deuce, but no progressive hit.
Up $150, decided to hit nsud .25c single line and didn’t manage to hit anything big, and walk away this session a whopping +$20 winner.

In terms of win/loss pain threshold, obviously winning is more pleasurable than losing. But I have a bankroll and long-term outlook on vp that lessens the pain somewhat. Losing in vp short term is common and expected. Takes a lot of hands to hit those jackpot hands.
However, It’s the string of losses that really becomes the pain; other than that, a few bad or good sessions is just another day.

I’m finishing up a trip and a vacation. But wanted to write shortly, sort of a vacation report, on a 3 day trip we are on Mesquite, NV. Me and my family are staying at Casablanca resort and casino. Great spa and pool if one likes that sort of thing, about a cool 110-118 degrees out here...not cool!
Anyway, vp not considered the best at this resort, but comps seem pretty liberal. Have not done the math, but at almost 500 points and almost $20 in comps. I don’t think it’s $1=1 point, seems too generous to me. Will have to look into that.
Regardless, best paytable to find is ugly ducks. But I’ve been playing mostly 7/5 bonus poker. They have two $1 single line progressive machines, huge machines, with royals almost double (I.e., $5500-$8000). Makes the games with the comps near or over 100% er. The problem is, this is more of a family trip, not vp trip, so didn’t bring a bankroll to really tackle them. Just did two quick low buy in sessions ($150 and $200 roll respectfully) and managed to come out ahead about $50 each session. Also played .25c single line machines that pay out $1,199 for a royal with the two best games once again being ugly ducks and 7/5 bp.
So that’s about it. May play a session or two more, so we will see what happens. It thought this was worth adding.
Cheers!

Postscript to Mesquite trip. More than likely my final session this trip on .25c 7/5 bonus poker with royal at $1,999. Funny I thought I was playing bonus poker at first, but accidentally pressed double bonus and hit quad 4 with kicker. Although kicker doesn’t matter, still couldn’t figure out why I was $100 up instead of $50. At any rate, after hitting 3 two pairs and getting 1 to 1, realized my genius and switched to bonus poker. Long story short, hit deuces with kicker and ended up +$100 on this session. A little salty I didn’t gamble it up this time with triple double bonus, something I usual do on vacations because I don’t care. But wanted to last awhile on the little money I came down to the casino with.
Anyway, there it is. P.S. had that $1 single line 8/5 JOB with progressive royal at a ridiculous $10,000. I saw the same couple playing it at 11:00 am when we went for breakfast. It’s 1:30 am now and they are still playing it. Good luck to them!
Cheers
