Great night. Sounds like me. Yours ended up good, but like me sometimes we just don't quote know when to fold em.

*win-loss statement for 2018*
Getting to be that tax-time. I have only two w2g’s this year, both for flopped deuces on a .25c 5 play machine for $1250 each.
Interesting to note, my play for 2018 was 99% at one location, Aliante. Now I was expecting the statement to have a block of the win and a block for the loss. Nope, just a difference of the two, which came out approximately at a win of around $5,500. For part-time quarter break even games,I guess that’s not bad.
A layman’s guess of the hours played for the year divided by the total sum is likely around 6-8 bucks an hour ROI (return on investment). Fancy lingo for results by hour average. Won’t be quitting my day job, but at least it’s in the black.
Anyway, So I thought I’d share that with the encouragement to keep good records on the play. The win loss obviously does not tell the whole story. Tax law is always changing but I do believe it still adds as income and may affect your bracket but can write off losses up to your win. Cheers!

Congratulations on being ahead for the year. Very few of us, I think, can say that (including me).
Perhaps now I can motivate myself to compile and post my 2018 tally.

Yes, good news on being positive. Here's a question: as a local, did you receive any offers or give away's of any mention from Aliante for your play?

Great news Dan. I’ve never been ahead by year’s end. Most of it my own fault as at some point I am ahead in nearly every session

If you were playing $5 denomination, that could have been $110,000 for the year.

Are the casino won/loss statements for you guys accurate? I used to go off my W/L statements, but a couple years ago I started meticulously recording all of my sessions, and I found at the end of the year my statements were usually WAY off from my actual win/loss.
