344,500 hands now. Actually lucked out a little and came back a little to the plus side due to Martingale clone play. Also played a little Double Down Stud and did OK. Other than no Royal another bummer for me, but great hit for guy waiting for the Multi-Strike machine I was playing. He hit Aces quads on the top line with a 3. Tripple Double Bonus. Not 5 minutes after I left the machine. It was a huge hand pay. I didn't even wait to see the amount. Just congratulated him and went to dinner with the wife.
Vegas is on the agenda. Just have to wait a while since I am caring for elderly folks and have to be close to home most of the time. Have been to Tahoe in 96. Only 3 hours roughly from my sister's house in Sonoma. Liked Harra's and had a nice time there. Beautiful scenery. Also down the road, plan to make some trips to some of the places you guys and gals frequent. South Point sounds nice too. Thanks for the well wishes.

Keep me posted (here on this site) as to whether or not you will be in AC in the near future.....my next go around there (provided we are not at war with Russia over the Ukraine) will be March 16 thru 21......I will be playing in a n/l holdem tourney at Borgata plus I am going to check out Bally's brand new Poker room.   but I will be staying at Resorts and Taj, and I wholly recommend that you stay at Resorts if and when you come to AC because your Mohegan stats will serve you there too....plus we will be able to get together when I am not playing poker.I actually can help you hit your royal, I have that effect on others, all we need to do is have me play a machine until I lose about 100 bucks (playing 25 cent denom) and then you sit down and BOOM!    5 or 10 minutes later, there's your royal!

Hi DB. The earliest for me to get down there would be sometime in April. Resorts sounds good as a stay and jumping off point. Now up to 350,000 hands after a poor session late Sun and early Mon. Some people are still hitting though at Mohegan. The lady in back of me hit a Royal with 10 quarters in on DDB and she had hit Aces twice before that in the hour before. I also saw a couple of other hand pays. I am just on a bad streak and hopefully it will break soon. I know if I switch to pennies or nickels it will break....lol...

Olds and others.
I have never shared the secret of my success in gambling, but after reading all of your and DaBurglar's lamentable posts, I can put you on the path to beating those casinos at their own game.

I learned these secrets many years ago. The knowledge I gained has let me rise to superstar status in the gambling world, to the point I've become a true legend.
If you follow my guru's example you too can turn things around. My Guru's name is Lucky Ned. You can learn about The Lucky Ned's IncrediSystem WINstitute at the following link.
I might suggest the Keno portion of the System to begin with, it is easily adaptable to Video Keno. A game that keeps me in the chips for when I have a not so great VP session.

Note to TedLark. Do not attempt to confuse this valuable information in a logical manner. I'm living proof that it works.

442....here is a final word, maybe not, the ultimate word, but, I will say, that Redemption is on your way.  My dear Father, a long-time horse player and gambler, NEVER affecting the family, played many kinds of games of chance.  One that he played, for THREE years, was buying a ticket on an Indiana TV Game show, "Hoosier Millionaire".  Every day, he would buy a ticket, for $1 at his gas stop.  Finally, in 2000, his ticket said "YOUR ON THE SHOW".  So long as he appeared, Dad would win $3,000.  Well, he did.  There were four contestants.  Dad went to the final round, singly, outlasting the other three, having won $14,000 so far.  He picked from a large group of boxes, and picked his lucky numbers, two and six.  Well, 442, six DELIVERED $250,000!  Dad was 81 at the time.  He walked away with $191,000 as I recall, after taxes.  Yes, he had a state tax reckoning, but, Dad had his comeuppance.  We have the 30 minute program on tape.  He was SPECTACULAR!  Glib, a gambler all his life at cigar stores that looked the other way, Dad finally CASHED IN.  He had a great more five years, going to his favs in Michigan City, buying tickets of chance.  A real professional gambler, in my mind.  BTW, He WON AGAIN to be on the SHOW, yep, two years later!!  He won $14,000, but wasn't  the last man standing.  Always gracious in the end, Dad was a forerunner to us.  He knew how to lose, and he knew how to win.

CK I have heard that Lucky Ned has a small, devoted, cult like following. I wish you much more success in the future.

TedLark,
Although I was the first to admit to subscribing to Lucky Ned's teachings, I am sure there are others, right here in this forum who also pay homage to that great man. Although they remain in the closet so to speak, I have noticed by some of the postings that they also adhere to his philosophy of "going with guts".

I remain,

A real professional gambler, in my mind.

Not in my mind. But I'm glad he didn't gamble beyond his means, and also received a big dose of positive variance. I wish most gamblers were that lucky, including myself; we aren't.

My dad's brother was a fireman, he studied the Daily Racing Form more than most, and offered many tips to my dad and showed him how to read the paper the, I suppose, the correct way.  Uncle followed horses back in the 50's to the 80's and knew tendencies and track conditions better than most.  Maybe in your mind he might qualify as a Professional.  Lol.

Evidently olds, some of your buzzards luck is rubbing off on me in the videopoker.com monthly contest. I have gone 35 days or 17500 hands without a royal. Statistically I guess I still have another 25 to 30 thousand hands to go. On average playing this contest if I am doing my math correctly you should hit a royal about once every 3 months. I noticed this months there are 3 people who, even though this is only the 5th of the month have already hit 2 royals. Last month the winner had 4 royals. Hard to compete against that. Me and a lot of others would be in the lead if we could figure out how to get 2 royals in the first 5 days. Here's to hoping our luck will change for the better.
