Re: Dirty Dozen Trip!
Yeah, it was a bit unexpected to go back so quick. Timing sorta just "worked out". We may not be going back for the rest of the year. :( She is planning a massive Disney vacation for Nov. right now...lol If we do go back this year, it would likely be around her birthday again.
And yeah, myVegas was a big factor in pushing us to go...the way the rooms are set up now though, it's going to be difficult to squeeze out a ton of value from them anymore. I'm still a little peeved about screwing up the Aria buffet. Now my g/f has a lot more LPs left.
And yeah, it was a bit sobering with my results. I wish I kept better records to figure out how "bad" I ran. It probably was at least bottom quarter. It doesn't help I am 0 for lifetime on Triple Bonus Plus for Aces thru 4s either.
Happy the g/f hit 4 Aces though...she's a lot more sensitive about winning and losing (i.e. if she just loses, she will not want to return...I need to learn that...lol)
Oh and another Vegas Message Board member hit the Royal that I briefly chased at Luxor. It got up to $2168.75 before he hit it. So some people get lucky, but that hasn't been me in Vegas this year.
Timing is everything, you guys went right before the fight of the century and the heavily promoted Rock in Rio concerts. The WSOP should be happening shortly thereafter so Vegas might get busy soon.
I heard the hotel offers were much better in the past before I started playing last year. I started late even though I heard about it, never thought I'd go to Vegas. Those mLife receptionists even encourage people to play it. It was way easier to earn Loyalty Points back then.
With the limitation of 3 prize redemption per 30 days, they scale up the big rewards. The $25 FreePlay is 56.25k LP, but the $50 is nearly tripled at 150k. The single lunch buffet at ARIA is 19k LP, but the two lunch buffet is at 78k LP. I would say people are out of their mind to get 2 Bellagio (weekday) dinner buffet at 560k LP, that much can get 4 or 5 hotel stays at a mid tier MGM resort. I wanted to try out Tender steakhouse at Luxor if I do go this year.
Good to hear the g/f hit quad aces and another $200 hit of the year! Would have been more exciting with a kicker. I learned the hard way from the high variance of DDB, the excitement of quad aces can go away soon.
Aces,2,3,4 quads happen about 1 in 1300 (if quads happen in 1 in 425, I just multiplied by 3), so it should happen soon enough, but then again, playing a variety of games will prolong it. The station casinos have the full pay 9/5 TB+ at the 99.8%, supposedly they do not offer mailers to those that play that game, but myVEGAS expanded to stations a few months ago. Wish Southpoint or Boyd places had it, people would play for long sessions.

Starting this month on May 1st, the terms and conditions of myVEGAS increased the number of redemptions to 4 per rolling 30 day period.

LOL you have to be joking. They probably are realizing that redemptions are approaching worthless now, so why not?
This trip I really got screwed in so many small ways. I would have much rather her been able to use the 2 Aria buffet award.
I was also stupid enough to sign up for Downtown Grand last month just so I could use an ACG coupon. They are offering a loss rebate up to $1000 that also started May 1st. My only saving grace is I can't easily collect free play in short periods of time. But someone from CA like you easily could. It's slots only, no VP or tables, but for someone than can collect all the reimbursements, it's definitely worth it if you were going to go to Vegas anyway.
As for Triple Bonus plus...meh, I rarely play it unless I am in Vegas since it was Caesars best bartop choice since 2012. But considering how many times since we've went since 2012...well, I probably have played 5k hands on it total. Oh well. I did get a dealt straight flush when min coining once...lol g/f got a premium quad on it while min coining too. :( But now, only one CET bar on the Strip offers it, so who knows how much more I'll play it. Ironically, it's the bar that offers all the craft beer, so I still played it a lot this trip. They've downgraded all the other CET strip bars to the horrible choices of 30/6/5 Bonus (96.18%) and 7/5 DDB (95.71%). I guess I could play full pay 9/5 TB+ at my local to try to finally get a "premium quad" from the game, but I am pretty sure that might screw up my comps I get from there. That game isn't on a multigame unit like 35/8/5 Bonus (99.66%) is.
What's a bit depressing is...last 4 trips only 3 Quads playing Triple Bonus Plus. I don't even want to guess the number of hands I played on that game in the last 4 trips. But a few of the trips I didn't play it tons due to better bartop choices slash we were staying South Strip/away from CET. I have hit 3 "premium quads" on bartops in those four trips while NOT playing TB+. 4s at 10/6 DDB at Gustav's at Paris (RIP), 4s at 7/5 Bonus w/STP at Heart Bar at PHo (RIP), and 4s at 7/5 Bonus at Winchester Bar at Sam's Town (I meant to be playing 9/7 DB...grrr). So I get them, just not on TB+.
