.Thanks Alpax for at least posting the video!! AS i SAID in my post, even just witnessing or seeing someone else's hit of these hands is a little satisfying! I enjoyed seeing the word ACE$ spelled in this u tube video, although seeing it on a single line 10 cent machine was a wee bit disappointing, but so what. it is still a nice tidy 400 dollar hit and kudos to the player playing it and having the discipline to simply play in the 10 cent denom if that is what his / hers / its bankroll dictates!I admit once, back in 2009, I went to Vegas and took a red eye from Hartford to Las Vegas,,,,,,my flight was the LAST one out of Hartford that SATURDAY NIGHT (back then they had a few more flights on a Saturday Night and flew out later) and we departed around 10 pm (7 pm Vegas time)....it was Non stop and we made it in about 5 hours 20 minutes so I landed in Vegas 12:30 am local time (it was 3:30 am by MY time though lol ugh) I was not due, obviously, to check into my hotel room that trip until after 1 pm later in the day, and I was staying Downtown at the Golden Nugget. So I hopped on a airport ****tle bus and was dropped off downtown at the GN. I checked my Bag and had to find a way to kill about 12 hours so i went to the Starbucks in the GN, guzzled a couple deliciously overpriced beverages and was temporarily amped (but of course I was also a CRASH waiting to happen lol) I went across the way to Bunions Horseshoe and found some of the older Video Poker machines they kept back then towards the rear of the casino (in the Northeastern corner of the casino back then)....10 cents was a common denom on many of the machines, and sure enough, less than 5 minutes after I plopped a 100 into a machine that had 9-7-5 Double Bonus Poker, I caught a Royal flush in clubs on single line 10 cents for 400 bucks! Luckily I was too tired to be anything other than mildly pleased....lol

I forgot the single most frustrating, and elusive of the "special" hits
that I have always wanted to achieve! This is also one I have never
even SEEN HIT in the casino! The elusive, and expensive, S H O C
K W A V E Poker~~~~~~~!!!!! How could I leave this off, and not
put it number 1, on my list I do not know!!!!! This
is one game I have always wanted and desired.....so much so that I
actually play a little game within my head whenever I am playing a
regular normal session of video poker somewhere, and I hit a quad
......what i then do is count down and see if I hit another QUAD in the
next 10 hands, just as happens when playing SHOCKWAVE poker!!! I am
dismayed to report that, in the past year and a half, only TWICE have I
managed to actually catch a second quad within 10 hands of hitting the
first quad. That is NOT good at all, especially considering
if......IF I really were playing the shockwave video poker, the
paytables actually SUCK big time, and unless a player hits either the
Royal or the elusive shockwave four of a kind for the 4000 credits,
you are going down in ugly, BORING fashion! That's the worst part
of the game. the BORING nature of it.....there are imply NO other fun
and entertaining aspects to this game at all!!!

I hear ya......I have dabbled with Joker poker but never found the desire to keep at it.....its a tough switch after years of playing games like BP or DDB or progressive games that involve JOB or DDB.The strategy for Joker Poker is not too difficult to master, the tough part is keeping your mind focused and uncluttered so that you do not accidentally slip up and start playing with JOB or DDB strategy mid-game! lol  its easy to do especially if you are on a cold machine, and the JOKER itself does not appear for many many hands in a row to remind you by default which game you are playing lol!!!That said, I just remembered! I have never ever hit a 5 of a kind for the 4000 payout on Joker poker!!!!! Granted I play inconsistently and sporadically. but over the past 20 years, you'd think I would have caught one by accident!!! NOPEFurther proof that AC's games are jacked heavily in favor of the casinos beyond anything we players expect or should encounter!
I've hit a few 5 of a kinds playing Joker Poker 2P AC. The biggest draw for me is the fact the odds of hitting 5oak are about 4 times better than hitting a RF. Unfortunately the pay table is HORRENDOUS. 97.19% for the variant I've always seen. Supposedly there's a paytable that pays 4k for both the royal and 5oak which is 98.6%, but I have yet to see one of those. Really weird strategy for that game too, especially with junk hands.

Anyone remember the kings or better joker poker progressives at the Borgata when they first opened? 1,000 reset for 5oak and $1,000 for natural royal. They didn't last long but I hit 3 5oak's and 3 natural royals while they lasted. Only about 3 months before they took them out.

....to be with my fave casino buddies: my mom, sister and brother in law; and pool our money into a $5 triple play machine and hit a minimum of 20K. We always end up splitting any profit......THAT, would be a dream for us all....nice topic, DaB ..Thanks

Honestly, I never knew such a game existed, that has BOTH avenues to the 4000 credit payoff we all strive for: 5OAK and ROYALs.....The kings or better part is one of the obvious catches......I tried a few times to succeed at TRIPLE BONUS POKER with its LArge Quad payouts (375 for 5-Ks, 600 for 2,3,4s and 1200 for Aces), big full house payouts (11 to 1, and at one time at the now defunct AC CLUB, a.k.a. The Hilton, 13 to 1 on a few machines for a Fullboat), and 9 to 1 for a flush on a few machines as well!! But of course, Triple Bonus Poker has the nagging Kings or better threshold for payback, and it was uncanny how many times you'd start seeing a pair of jacks or queens infiltrate your final hand result when you tried to play this game! Only once, at the now defunct TRUMP PLAZA (where they had the abysmal 11-7 Triple Bonus Poker) did I ever have a winning session of Triple Bonus Poker, thanks to actually hitting four aces followed by a couple other ordinary quads (6s and 9s) for a decent win.Anyway......."Kings or Better"......boo hiss

I played the 11/7 Triple Bonus at the Taj years ago, without much success. The Joker poker progressives at the Borgata, however were a mistake by the casino. Like I said they didn't last long, don't know how they got on the floor to begin with.

I really miss one eyed jacks even with its weird strategy. Mohegan had it many years ago on a bank of two cent machines that allowed up to bet one hundred on a single line game. You had to get one in the middle of the night to get a seat. You could play them safely with a mild Martingale method. We all killed those machines sometimes making hundreds on a two cent game. They removed the entire bank after a while never to be seen again.

I had heard that in AC, 100% or better theo VP games were not legal, yet we had them for awhile. Now, only progressives will get over 100% occasionally.

That's how Illinois is or at least was. I don't understand the purpose of that restriction, unless maybe it's to keep them from having one or two high payback machines to skew their payback numbers (Illinois casinos are required to post their monthly payback percent)
