A few years ago I hit a sizable jackpot on a Progressive VP machine. Low and behold, they had me sign a US taxable form before they would pay me. Middle of the ocean and the IRS is right there.

Same happened to us a few years ago with a RF jackpot just over $1200.
To add insult to injury, on this cruise bought and paid for by Fort McDowell Casino, we ventured into the casino before heading to our suite. The progressive $1 jackpot was over $8k. When we ventured back after we reached the 3 mile limit, they had reset it to $4K. At that point, I approached the Casino Manager who was chatting up our regular casino host and told them we wouldn't be dropping a dime and would let the rest of the Fort's players know what they did. Within 10 minutes the progressive had been reset.

Two days later I hit the Royal for over $8500.

Good Times.
Wow......quite a tale of intrigue, shenanigans, righteous indignation (& intimidation), culminating in a happy prosperous ending out on the high seas (a Tale which originated for the most part, ironically,  in the middle of the desert....i.e. ARIZONA!)First off:      ".... Middle of the ocean and the IRS is right there...."    You bet your government insured gluteus maximus the  EYE (I) ARE (R) EHHZ (S)  is right there!   How else do you expect     [LGBT] "UNCLE SAM / SAMANTHA / SAME" [/LGBT]   to pay it's largest "dependent", er....I mean, vendor, Lockheed, for the  1.5 Trillion Dollar Turkey, the F-35????   Plus, once the airfields and aircraft carriers on which the F-35s will be based in the forthcoming war with China are swarmed, overwhelmed and destroyed by  wave after wave of efficient and effective People's Republic Army guided cruise missiles (probably made in Taiwan lol), the USA will need even more money to buy lots and lots of other, PROVEN planes (like the good ol' F-15 "Eagle") to stem the tide!    So fork it over.....Second, let me inquire of the following:    What was your manner, method and tone in confronting the Cruise Ship Casino Manager (along with your regular Casino host/contact) about these apparent shenanigans with the meter on the progressive?   What exactly did you say and how'd you say it???   Not to say you didn't have an legitimate issue, but it almost sounds like you intimidated and threatened them....not to say, also, that they didn't deserve some of it at least......I'm always approving when a casino, any casino, takes a lump or two.....
Being the soft spoken, well mannered Marine that I am, I was on my best behavior and almost apologetic when I informed my host and the casino manager that we would not be participating in their games of chance. All because their casino video poker machines were RIGGED, just like Atlantic City.

As for the F-35's I love them. I happen to live in the flight path of Luke Air Force Base who trains young warriors to fly that beast and kill our enemies.

The first time I heard a flight of two F-35's approach Luke AFB the noise was deafening and still is. The noise alone is enough to make me want to find a very deep bunker far, far away from their target. A couple of my neighbors were a bit put out with the noise in the beginning, but I reasoned with them that what they are really hearing is the sound of freedom. The lone democrat on the block was the only one to tell me #@%^* myself. He recently moved into assisted living because he needed help with his colostomy bag.

What I really like about it is the new weaponry that will help protect and defend my fellow Marines on the ground with close air support, while keeping the skies clear of enemy aircraft from miles away.

Hope that cleared up your questions.

CK I have a question unrelated to video poker but related to the post you made. What came first, Luke AFB or those neighbors who complain about the noise?

I'll bet Luke AFB was there first. We have a situation here in Central New Jersey, where homebuyers in some towns near the Joint Base McGuire/Fort Gentleman/Lakehurst must sign disclaimers that they understand they are in the flight path of Military planes to and from the Base.

Luke has been around since the Air Force was referred to as The Army Air Corps.

Luke was here first, and will out live any of the geezers, including myself in the Sun Cities. Luke AFB and its Chairforce Officers and Enlisted spend millions of dollars in the local economy every month. One of the nearby cities bought up nearby farmland to ensure that local developers wouldn't/couldn't build up close to the base and cause the base problems in the future.

Well no, it didn't clear up anything but thanks for trying.   I don't want to dive into a long debate about the Military Industrial Complex, the Economic costs and implications of spending so so so much National treasure and resources on weapon systems you hope you never ever have to actually use (and which probably won't be used that much).....I also don't want to ask you to try and defend, or even explain, the spending of such outrageous sums when so many other more pressing needs persist in making themselves known (like, to take just one single example, Infrastructure.....for the cost of just a couple of these absurd machines the entire freeway and roadway systems of numerous states could have been fixed....for the cost of a few more, the whole country!)   I don't want to just ask you, point blank, in the face of 20+ TRILLION National Debt (about to explode far higher) how this will ever be resolved, controlled or even paid, given this type of spending.     Forget all that.....just explain to me what it is about colostomy bags and assisted living that draws your barely concealed contempt and scorn?   FYI, I personally require no colostomy supplies myself, and poop just like everyone else (I don't even require a handicap stall, but its nice if you got one);  furthermore, I live in my own home and require NO 'living' assistance of a personal/professional/other nature, and I am not a Democrat (or a Republican).....so I do not take your remarks personally. We've gone from Cruise Ship Games, to the IRS, to the Military Industrial Complex, to Poop collection utilities.....feel free to segue into whatever else you desire as you attempt to answer my latest questions.

DaBurglar I seem to recall that you once posted that you; "own a handivan and employ a driver, not a chauffeur, but a part time driver that you employ through a service." This is because you can no longer drive yourself.

This would not be considered by you to be a "living" assistance of a personal/professional/other nature?

And cudos to you because this is the first time since you joined these forums you've ever mentioned owning several homes.

I post this only in rebuttal to your statement that you require no "living" assistance of a personal/professional/other nature.

I post this only in rebuttal to your statement that you require no "living" assistance of a personal/professional/other nature. If you want to include the fact that I do get driven around by others because I am no longer able to drive myself, then one could classify that as living "assistance".......but that's a stretch, and it hardly diminishes the point being made.Donald Trump has not driven himself in a long long time, not counting golf carts.   I doubt he has cooked for himself in a long time either......I however, cook all the time.   I'll post about my culinary exploits in a different thread, but for now, would this mean Donald Trump requires more living "Assistance" than me?As for homes (it's hardly required or even expected for posters to "mention" what homes they have, where, how many, how much etc.....and that's why I myself never talked about it or "mentioned" it until now)      My only point (to CK) is that a common prejudice (or just general perception) toward disabled people is they simply are "on the dole" taking up resources and contributing very little......I only "mentioned" this to illustrate I am not some helpless forlorn creature.   I will concede it may have been a bit over the top, but so are "colostomy bags"....I'll modify my post accordingly.

Why is it that you think my comments about an elderly neighbor moving to assisted living was a swipe at you?
The cantankerous old guy I mentioned, has arthritis so bad that he couldn't make the hook up any more, and felt it was time to get some full time help. It's an everyday occurance out here.

Further, I think it's admirable that you are able to live your life independently. I have several friends who aren't as fortunate, but work tirelessly at doing the best they can.

As for "attempting" to answer the rest of your questions, I'll pass lest I offend your delicate sensibilities.
