Re: Well... It finally happened.
Roveer, nice hit, as others have said, well done!
I'm just asking here:. Last month you were in the process of unloading on EBay your own VP game machine, where you specifically stated that you are done with gambling and it's time to move along......Have you again changed your mind and if so what made you change it again?
I'm writing this post as I sit in Harrah's AC, where you received the blast of Good Fortune pictured above! I'm also in the never received a dealt Royal club ( or any other MONSTER GOOD HAND LIKE AWAK) when playing ANY of the many multi-line games out there. I'm way way way way beyond the customary 650K hand threshold for evaluation of these things! But in the case of where you like to play and where I'm currently at, Harrah's AC, it's more than simple good luck or bad lick!
When you look around casino floors, and you see so many of those Ultimate X, STP, and All-star II macines, just to name a few, ask yourself why Harrah's allows so many of them on the floor in the first place?!?! Popular demand is one obvious reason but the bigger and more important issue is clearly profitability! All the game choices on All-star II menus invlove either gimmick games or multiline games.....And as far as I can tell, the starting hand quality of all these games is poor compared to normal starting hand quality on typical single line, "normal" VP games on typical game king menus. It's that simple
Done with Gambling in the sense of the way I used to gamble. I visit occasionally to pick up a comp or some such thing. I've significantly limited my frequency of visits to 1 or 2 every few months and the bankrolls are paltry compared to what I used to bring.

Ok....Tell me what doesn't make sense? As far as I can tell, I wrote in English and used proper sentence structure and grammar, and clearly stated my own personal experience and observations.
If you simply disagree, however, with my conclusion, then state so and the basis.....
But there is no doubt in my mind that "gimmick" games like STP, UltX and other multiplier games do not deal the same strength or quality starting hands as standard single line games like JOB or DDB that have no gimmick. Furthermore,a common gripe I've encountered with many players of multiplier games is the fact that hands with multipliers are frequently dead or very weak.....When playing UltX, whenever you have a hand that gets at or above 4X multiplier, you rarely if ever catch anything. Same with STP

I will add from my experience playing STP. If I have a 2x multiplier, its' considered a dead hand before it's dealt. Of course if you look at my hundreds of pictures over the years I think there are a a bunch of 2x hand pays. I think this is perception more than anything else. Statistically I think it's just part of the distribution.
Not having a dealt Royal in over 7-8 years of moderate/heavy play because most of it was on STP. That was starting to bother me. I was figuring it was because of the choice of STP. Still might have just been in the distribution.

DaBurglar I purposely waited to see if someone would respond to your post before I did and I'm glad someone did because I would have posted the same sort of response that you got from rsactuary.
I'm relatively sure that with "gimmick games" as you call them, any multiplier that may roll up is independant of the RNG software that controls the dealing of the cards and therefore would not determine what cards may display in the hand. This is also true of the game denomination as well: the RNG DOES NOT know what denomination a player is playing at and anyone who claims not to hit certain hands while playing at X denomination is delusional. They may think this because they are losing money faster at the higher denominations.
But, I could be wrong.

A few years back I was sitting next to a guy and his wife who were playing single line while I was playing one of the "gimmick" games. She asked him about STP and he said, "oh, those games are just a trick, you never win". Over the next hour I went on to rack up several thousand dollars. Everyone has their feeling about a particular game, but if we believe that the machines play fairly, then we know exactly how the "gimmick" games play and our feelings just get in the way. I'm still a believer that it's all randomly random. You do have to watch how you play "gimmick" games as you can destroy a bankroll really quickly if you don't know what your doing (playing JOB strategy on DDB, which I see a lot), or just play too damn fast.

How many "deals" of STP do you think you played over the years?
I still need to post my latest TR here, but I saw another person get dealt Aces w/kicker on 10-play quarter STP for $5000.

Gimmick games is a great moniker! Total scam hustle! Get woke like DB. Whatever else may ail him, his vision is as sharp as an eagle's.

I've played Video Poker for many years and "unfortunately" was tempted
to play Ultimate X on more then a few occasions, so I can say with a
degree of certainty that IT IS NOT a fair game and anyone on this forum
who says otherwise is either a degenerate gambler needing help, someone
who is lying to himself or an industry shill. You can call it gimmick or
whatever you want, but fair Poker Game it isn't! Anyone who plays it
on a regular basis is a fool. More fun burning your bills.

It's a game with very dramatic ups and downs. You have to be prepared for that. Why do you think it's "not fair"?
