Re: COVID-19 Casino Impact
My guess is that anybody that opens up virtually any type of business will somehow be insulated from lawsuits if
someone gets covid 19 from patronizing the business. Whether this will be legislated or some other form of insulation, I’m not sure. Otherwise, nobody would be able to stay in business. I’m afraid this monster will be with us a long time and a vaccine a long way off. I am hoping in the meantime, someone will perfect UVC lighting sterilization systems that will not harm humans. They will have to be in the 200-300 nanometer range. Hope they are working on it full steam ahead.

a presentation was made at WH presser today, showing effects of temp, humidity and sunlight on covid droplets. this presentation by william bryan, homeland security, is available on you tube. i am not sure why this info is not a bigger story, maybe everyone knew this before me.
essentially, he reveals scientific research, that seems to me could easily be used on any flat surface, such as those in a casino, to eliminate the virus. without getting into details, the research shows how the half life of a covid droplet, could be reduced from 18 hours to 2 minutes, with assistance from changes in temp, humidity and uv light.
if this research is accurate, seems a casino could hire a group of 10-20 employees to use these UV wand sanitizers over machines on a non stop basis.
anyone know anything about this technology?

Antibody testing in NY shows 14% of state residents and 21% of NYC have been infected, so the mortality rate is now something like 0.5% if I heard correctly. In addition 94% of the NY fatalities have at least one co-morbidity. So what is the mortality rate for a healthy person, less than one tenth of one percent?

That percent doesn't support the end of the world narrative the left is projecting.Carcounter wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 6:12 amSo what is the mortality rate for a healthy person, less than one tenth of one percent?

I have been posting about UVC light as a germ killer for some time now on various posts. I used it way back in the 1960s while at UCONN in the lab. There is ongoing research to see if it will work in the 200 to 300 nanometer range without harming humans. UV light is known to cause skin cancer and ruin the retina in the eyes. Also it is more effective on hard services than say on a sweater. There are lab rooms already today that will sanitize the entire room, but they do it with no people in the room. Still there is promise for many applications. UV wands have been available for years. Many travelers to other countries use them.

Unfortunately COVID-19 is hitting much closer to home with me. Have lost three people I know well in the last four days. All were in nursing homes. One was a high school classmate that had developed Alzheimer’s. We played baseball together in school and I can still remember him getting on the school bus with his trumpet case. He was also in the band. Another person I know was the retired secretary in the school my wife taught in. She was in a different nursing home. And the mom of our next-door neighbor who was very healthy except she had mild dementia was also lost to the virus yesterday. She was in a third Nursing home. It was just on the local news that 45% of all COVID-19 deaths in Connecticut were residents of nursing homes.
