play max coins
perfectly strategy is unrealistic for 99.9% of VP players and attempting to following
it will cause you to lose even more money. My strategy is to
play as cheaply as possible and use the increased number of
hands played to your advantage. What matters most is not
what you win on a particular day, but what happens to your
bankroll over a long period of time. What good is it if you
win $1,000 in January and eventually lose $5,000 by
the end of the year?-------------------------------------------------------------------I will disseminate the wisdom in the sage's absence. I won $1,000 in January 2015 and gave back at least that much in the ensuing fifty weeks. Waiting on my CET statement to view the damage. And I was cheaping it out in 2015. Just not at CS' rock bottom one coin level. That strategy would have saved me at least $600. Most of the hands are losers; big hands are only partial compensation. I hope to fully plunge into CS waters to mitigate the damage in 2016.

If you gave it back over the next 50 weeks, that means you had a good year at about even (give or take). So the royal saved you and brought your play back to the assumed RTP. If you had been up 1000 at the end of the year you would have been at much higher return than 100%.

That's true case. The weeks where I do lose anything over $30 most of it is house money from earlier in the session and I can at least console myself that way. Lost winnings are a sweeter pill to swallow. But it will be a major part of the Loss on my CET statement and spike the number. Anything above break even seems to be an absolute miracle to me. I have come around to the notion that the rock bottom Cheap Out to freeze or severely curtail losses is truly the optimal strategy. Change your philosophy to grazing and nibbling on a machine. The last half hour of max bet will truly determine your fate. Figure a $25 loss in that span if the cold cycle prevails.

I think it's time for me to back off this forum a little. I don't want to monopolize it and I sure don't want to be responsible for players leaving or avoiding the forum due to anything I post.
Best news I've heard since Christmas!
I do not post here very often, but when I do I try not to judge other people. Having said that I would like to say I enjoy having Mr. Dancer on here to ask questions and would hope some of you do not chase him away!
Thanks and I hope all of you have many handpays!

to ask questions and would hope some of you do not chase him away!
No one on this forum wants to run off or silence Mr. Dancer. The problem as we see it is Mr. Dancer wants to dominate and totally control the debate on all issues related to video poker. He will not acknowledge any strategy or playing style unless it comes from his own lips. He is the acknowledged authority on professional video poker play, there is no question about that. Unfortunately as far as he is concerned, many players on this forum are not professionals and we began to question some of his statements. He responded by attacked us. We responded in return and are now in a constant back and forth verbal battle which has ruined the experience of this forum for many. I have personally tried to declare peace with him on dozens of occasions. The only thing that would seem to satisfy him is for us to go away and leave him alone with the players that idolize him. What we would like is a forum that is open to discourse from all members even if Bob Dancer doesn't agree with them. Frankly, I don't think this will ever happen, but one can always hope. This whole issue saddens me, but unless we let ourselves be bullied there nothing we can do to stop it. The only one that can stop it is Bob Dancer himself.

FloridaPhil,Whether I agree with your or Bob Dancer on how to play videopoker is not important. However, please refrain from using "we" as in "we see it as Mr. Dancer.....". Unless you qualify the "we", the implication is that all posters and readers of the Forum are part of your "we". I am not part of your "we".Thank you,Opalinewoman

On what subjects do you consider yourself an expert? I apologize for taking this thread on a small sidetrip by including "A question for Fla Phil."

Hey, I got 5$+5$ in free play for 4 weeks in Feb. I only ran 2 benjies thru the daggone machines. I didn't walk away a winner matter of factly, it broke my nuggets but at least I did have a good time playing on a limited bankroll for several hours on Phil's single coin system. Bob's correct hold system is paramount though. Y'all go give em hell regardless of whos (?) system you should partake in. Just don't toke the casino which is looking to fleece you.
