Re: Most unbelievable video poker stories
I get 2 royals on the same machine, same day about once per year. Sometimes they're only a few hands apart.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Remarkable! I will never have that feeling. You can see the trail of smoke as I sprint for the cage for a check, then the door. I have been noticing people continuing to play after four figure hits. Nothing personal obviously, but I hope for their demise.

Sara- great story and I'm happy it ended up working out for you. That was the molasses, now for the sulfur: you mentioned in your story that you "were playing on THEIR(the casino's) money." I've seen other people post here about "playing on THEIR (the casino's) money and this is a very flawed way of thinking because once you've won that money it is no longer theirs, but YOURS.
Casinos WANT players to think they are playing on "the casino's money" because this flawed thinking by the player may reduce the sting of losing because the player looks at it as losing the casino's money and not their own money. My moral here is: Once you've won the money it is yours to do whatever the heck with it that you want and if this means immediately leaving the casino then so what. I recently made a 9 hour round trip drive to a casino and I turned $565.00 in free play into $700.00 cash in about 30 minutes. I immediately cashed out and drove home after eating my free prime rib buffet.

Well I was bored. I had the cost of the gas covered via some Shell gas cards during a give away at Hollywood Casino in Joliet, IL and I'll pick up another $60.00 worth tomorrow.
I seem to remember a recent post you made about YOU playing on "the casino's money."
Who's laughing now?
Who's laughing now?
Not me. $700 is a nice day, but it wouldn't be enough to get me to walk out after 30 minutes play. What if you sat back down and hit a $4,000 royal after your $700 win? Does that mean you lost $3,300 by leaving too soon?

What if he'd stayed two hours and been in a car accident on his way home. What if? What if?
Damn, Ted. What if you stayed two minutes longer and a recently widowed millionaire model sat down next to you and you immediately hit it off.
You may have won $700 but you lost out on fantastic sex with a millionaire. Sucker.
Now who's laughing.

I once hit a royal 5 minutes after sittiing down, cashed out and left because we were going to Las Vegas 5 days later.
I once hit a deer on my way to Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, MI.
To my knowledge I've never had sex, fantastic or not, with a millionaire.
The moral of my post was that I was happy leaving $700.00 up in 30 minutes as that just about paid for my new 65" Samsung 4K Ultra High Definition television.
Thinking now about that 75" ---- What If???

Obviously an amazing story. I hung on every word. But was it worth $1,150 to tell the tale years later? I hope that you have wised up since. And that we all wise up before similar boom and bust odysseys plague us. Tis a trifle. After playing video poker for near 40 years I have had so many recoveries from being deep in the hole that normally I didn't start panicking until it gets well into 4 digits. The particular game I was discussing here, Triple Ace Poker, actually offered some of the best chances at a quick recovery because of the bonus round feature. If you hit 3 or 4 aces you go into a bonus round where it deals 5 cards face down. 2X, 3X, 3X, 4X. 4X. You pick one and then get 8 free hands at that multiplier. So in most cases you get 8 free (None of your credits are used) hands at 3-4 times the normal payout or the equivalent of betting 60-80 credits! So even being $800 in the hole is recovered with just a 4 of a kind in the bonus round. Ultimate X Poker offers the same chance of a quick turn around as you can get 8X 10X or 12X multiplied hands. Of course you have to bet the max to get to those bonuses so you have much more of a chance of going into the hole a lot faster. But as far as wising up. As Alice Cooper once sang:When I look back at my time at the trackAnd I played, and I played, and I played, and I wasShooting the craps at the back of Fat Jack´sCome on, fade me, JakeI'm a Las Vegas dreamer they took to the cleanersA bath, what a bath, what a bath I'd takeA fish on a hook, I was rattled and shook, 'cause I lost my stakeI took that seriousAll of my life was a laugh and a jokeAnd a drink and a smokeAnd then I passed out on the floorAgain and again, and again, and again, and again

You're some high roller. Fun lyrics! I'll have to listen to this sometime. My taste is more Gary Cooper. And I recently met Chris Cooper. I got his autograph and took a photo with him. These refined Coopers are such a stark contrast with Alice.
