Re: 2014 Reveiw & why I changed to the one coin system
Back from an overnight and another successful single coin play trip for 2015. The big difference in my play and Phil's is that I don't increase my bet on decent hits in hopes of that big jackpot. I haven't had any luck trying for the big ones and have given the method many trial hours last year.
Anyway, I find it hard to believe, but the more than 100 percent returns are still coming in on strictly single coin play. Below are the results from this trip.
3,000 hands on Double Down Stud Deuces wild. Pretty cold overall, but saved by the bell. Not since 2001, have I had a dealt Royal on this game until today. It came in hearts. One quarter played before doubling and a 500 buck hit on that Royal. I know I could have had 5k, but that is how I lost 50k last year trying for stuff like this.
2,000 hands on Deuces Wild all single coin. Pretty consistent game this time back and forth. I did catch the 4 deuces with a single coin in good for fifty bucks.
2,000 hands on 9/6 job. Quads hit about every 355 hands on average so that part was good. Still lots of full houses that came in bunches then long streaks without them.
So all in all, I am very happy with the 2015 results so far. The one trip for this year where I tried other than strictly single coin play, I failed and that trip cost me just over 400 bucks. One other thing I did notice and I am going to have to keep my ears open a little more to listen. Just like years ago, small areas of the casino would light up with premiun hands for a few minutes all about 30 feet or less from where I was playing. Then things would be quiet for hours. Both of my premium hits above hit when others in the area were lighting up and I don't mean cigarettes. Phil commented earlier recently about Royals coming in close together after a long dry spell. So far that seems to be happening. This is the second one this week and I find it somewhat odd that the other one in another session came after tossing a dud hand and the Royal appeared on the redraw.

Olds .... my streak of royals is now up to 6 in the last month and a half. Hopefully, you'll catch up to me soon. We both had some pretty lean times with royals.

Wtg...I'm up to 5 I think for Jan. Funny though. None caught on single line game. All on multigame or spin poker and none were on the deal line except the one on the Double Down Stud game that as dealt and the other was a redraw on Draw poker that handed out all 5 needed cards. None were caught with max bet due to strictly single coin play or strictly single coin play per line on spin or multi line games.

Back again from an overnight at Mohegan Sun. My 7th trip I think. A little tired this time. Quite a long ten hour session, but broken up in two parts. Strictly single coin play netted all positive results again. I actually had my doubts this time due to the lengthy session and about 6k hands were played. Brief results are below. I am not going to get rich by any means here, but won't go broke either.
About 2k hands played on Double Down Stud Deuces Wild Bonus. Caught one nice 5 of a kind with threes. Slight net positive.
About 3k hands played on nickel spin poker. Joker Kings. Same poor paytable 15/7 but it is one of those machines that pays 800 for a nickel bet for the Royal. No Royal hit, but caught five of a kind on 3 lines and a couple of straight flushes too. Quite a few quads. Net positive.
About 1 k hands played on five play Bouns Draw Poker quarters. 7/5 game not too bad and it paid points too. No Royal, but caught at least 5 quads and 3 of them were twos and threes. Net positive and the least variance of the three games played. Quite happy and surprised at the same time, since prior to playing Strictly single coin, the best I ever did lifetime was 3 straight sessions.
The best part is I never had to put more than the original hundred dollar bill in and it never came close to being wiped out on any of the 3 games.

Congrats Olds, it would appear that you've got the system down pat.

olds, if i understand all your posts, you got tired of donating so much to the casinos. you adjusted your play, maybe reduced your bet, maybe slowed down your pace a bit. you are still having a good time, playing often and the casinos are getting less of your money. that is what i call a well conceived plan and you are sticking to it. CONGRATS!

The best part is I never had to put more than the original hundred dollar bill in and it never came close to being wiped out on any of the 3 games. With Phil playing in FL, you playing in CT, and myself in MI all playing 1 coin with or without a system, its nice to get feed back on the play. We have the East covered, all we need is some West one coin reports to see where we stand.I have been doing trials on triple play DW. They are very short ones. Most at the $1 level.I do get many good hits and hit 4 deuces many times. The 2 below are from Sunday. I am trying to work in some max bets like Phil's 1 coin system, but very hard to get 12 coin hits.Next month I am going to do long trials (many hours) at the quarter level triple play and give a report since I will be on vacation and have some time on my hands. Been to the casino 12 times so far this January playing 1 coin 98% of the time and am in the black for 2015. Planning 5 more trips before the month is out.

Thanks gang....so far so good. Wish I could, but I still cannot connect with max bets after the hit of four or more, so I quit trying. Keeping a mental note and I wouldn't have connected on any of the sessions so far in 2015. There may be something like a 5 minute rule though that I am mentally working on too. It seems like sometimes you do really get a good 5 minutes of hits. The big question is when to try it and when to not. For now, I'm content with building up a little bankroll. Maybe will just graduate to strictly single coin play at the fifty cent or dollar level. Everyone stay in touch on this and yes, I would like to hear from our western buddies too. This may just be an Eastern deal...no pun intended...One final thing I have noticed that bears more trials. The variance seems low on quarter 5 play using strictly single coin play on the Bonus Poker game. Best I can get is 7/5 around here which still isn't too bad. In fact, my best hits have been on machines with the worst paytables. I'm not the only one experiencing that either. ....Hmmmm....I was sort of thinking too about an informal meet and greet maybe this summer at Mohegan Sun. Nice time of the year to be up this way and lots of stuff to do in a short commute from the casino including Foxwoods which is less than 20 minutes away. If I am able to maintain level 3 this cycle, maybe I can arrange a big suite just to use as a jumping off point or to veg out, relax, or just catch up on stuff. If you are like me though, most of the time will be on the floor. ...hopefully not literally. Just a thought, but just might be doable.

My biggest tip. If you love VP, don't play at max speed. That is not the "recreational" way, imo. Max speed should be reserved when your machine + comps pays > 100% and if you have the bankroll to handle the swings...
And hell, when I found the 10/6 DDB (100.07%) machine at Gustav's Bar at Paris Las Vegas, I STILL played at slow speed!! I wanted lower variance.
