Here's one thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread, though I might have missed it.  When your plane arrives in Vegas, you'll see all kinds of slot machines and VP machines in the airport terminal.  Since you haven't seen any "for real" ones before you might be tempted to check them out, but I'd advise that you just stick with your game plan and wait until you get settled in at your hotel and can check out the machines at your leisure.

Eduardo,    You going to be able to make it to "Bob's" or "Bill's" (?? used to be Barbary Coast across from Bally's).  You can stop on your way out and watch and listen to "Fat Elvis"!  Free so save it in case you don't hit and become a "thousandaire".    It sounds to me as though you are going out there with the proper attitude.  For the first time, you gotta look around!  The first time I was there, I "looked around" for three days and nights.  I seriously doubt that I played more than $10 in machines the entire trip.    Vegas is unique.  Nothing like it that I know of ANYWHERE else!

Yes Eduardo, I will be in vegas on the 13th. I will be there for a week. Haven't been there since 1985, so I am as excited as you are. I am staying at the venitian, but I have a rental car and plan to hit the station casinos for the better paytables. I am tagging along with my wife who is going for a business conference. She will be busy during the day, so thats when I will play! Most of the nights will be filled with shows and obligatory dinner dates. Maybe you can give me a heads up as to where you might be at a given time so we could hook up for a chat. I would love to meet someone that I know from this site. I plan to go to the trade show that shadowman mentioned and check out  the site's booth. I read with interest you're plan of attack as it is similar to the one I use.
  I'm sorry that I didn't read your post sooner as I am leaving in about 5 hours for vegas and you will probably not read this in time to respond.

  Gold Coast is reducing club benefits from .3 to .1 but they have a few months grace period.  FPDW is further cut in half to .05. Almost nothing.  But the breakfast buffet is incredible and with 75% off if you pay with club points. Late night cafe specials are 25% off. I did both on the day.
