I kept right on playing above BR yesterday. Two buck ATM fee be damned. I was in revenge mode.

Um, pretty sure that's called gambling addiction. You might need to get some help.

Problem gambling (or ludomania, but usually referred to as "gambling addiction" or "compulsive gambling") is an urge to gamble continuously despite harmful negative consequences or a desire to stop.   Problem gambling is often defined by whether harm is experienced by the gambler or others, rather than by the gambler's behavior.

Neither harmful consequences nor a desire to stop yesterday. I'm back to tight fisted $100 coin in. Can I interest you guys on a Mark Twain quote?

Phil I have a question for you about you bus trip story of earlier today. You wrote: "you had to gamble from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, 5 hours in all."

My question is this: Where was it written that "you had to gamble from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon, 5 hours in all?"

It wasn't. If you did, then YOU made the decision to gamble that long. I dashed over to Four Winds this morning to knock out my July freeplay and courtesy of a couple $400.00 AWAKS on .10 DreamCard I got up a bit over $700.00 and when I lobbed $300.00 back I still left after exactly 1 hour of play up $400.00. I could have stayed and either lost more or won more but I was content with what I had so I left. That's my Sunday story.

[/quote]Good Point.   The bus arrived at the casino at 10 AM and left at 3 PM.  I was by myself.   If I didn't gamble what would I do?  Walk around, check out the waste baskets, maybe drink lots of free coffee?  I quit taking the bus for that very reason.  I guess others felt the same as the casino quit offering bus trips.  Some players took the bus, played their free play and sat around talking for 5 hours.  They were playing with an edge. I like to leave when I'm ahead or at least even for the day, so I drive my own car these days. Right now I have no need to play single coin.  I don't expect to win long term.  I adjust my gambling budget to fit my needs.  When I feel like I've given them enough money for awhile, I stay home for a few weeks.   Amazingly enough, the casino is still open when I return.

Check out the waste baskets? Come on, there was NOTHING else to do in the whole city of Tampa? No museums? No ball games? No movies? No nothing?

Casinos subsidize those buses EXACTLY for people who have the "There's nothing to do in this entire town but gamble" so I NEED to gamble, mentality. I have a feeling that a regular participant of these forums takes those same buses but in Atlantic City and not Tampa.

As for me, besides leaving an hour later up $400.00 I used a $25.00 Speedway gas card I got from Harrah's last month to fuel up in Indiana on my way back. The flagged price was $2.77 a gallon but I logged onto my Speedway app and saved .50 a gallon so it was only $2.27 a gallon. All in all, a nice morning.

Probably Uber is the best way to get around Tampa

It's 82 miles from my house to the Tampa Hard Rock.  How much would I spend on Uber or a cab to get there and back?    The Tampa Hard Rock is at exit seven on I-4.  I guess I could have walked fourteen miles to downtown and back just to kill some time?  I told that story to illustrate there are times when playing single coin is not a bad option.  I was entertained playing VP for 5 hours and broke even.   I think I won that day.     Shortly after that I decided the bus was not a good option because I couldn't leave when I wanted to.  I guess others felt the same way.  They no longer have the bus.The real winners were the people who paid $25 for a bus trip, played their $50 bucks in free play and sat the rest of the trip out.  Now that's Advantage Play!   Unfortunately, like all profitable deals the casino killed the goose.
