Back to Vegas, baby!

Post by Eduardo »

This is sooner than I thought it would be, but I'm heading back in January.
I just got something in the mail from the Hilton where I did most of my play... 2 free buffets, how can I stay away?!

If I eat $500 in food, can I say I broke even?  Seriously though, I'm going back and taking the family this time.  I'll have 4 days so I can see many more of the sites (and play a lot more).

I just might try my hand at the video poker tournament they are having in January. You can bet I'll be asking for advice on that as it approaches!

Aside from that, I fully intend to win my $500 back and then some.  I'll have to come up with a new game plan, but I don't know what my budget will be yet.

Anyone else going to be there January 13-16?

Since you'll be there longer this trip you'll be able to settle back and enjoy the play more - no time pressure!  You should have plenty of time to go out and take in the sights as well.

Eduardo is coming back??? Last time you were here the traffic was awful and this time you're bringing the entire family ... I may need to take a vacation.

Seriously, you'll have to let me take your clan out to dinner at GVR. I have some serious comp points at Stations that I love to use.

Anyone else going to be there January 13-16?I'll be there the three days following Christmas and will be staying downtown.  A shame the dates didn't align! Good luck on your trip Eduardo!  I'll probably be kicking back and just taking it easy.  Going to Vegas is about the least expensive vacation I have ever been able to come up with!

How long is a cab ride out to GVR? It would be great to get some play in there if I can.

I"m going to Laughlin in Feb., and figured to drive up to LV for a day, but since Eduardo is going back, and takes the city for everything its got, there's no reason to go.  Guess I'll wait until they re-build their cash reserves.

Quite long and expensive. You could probably rent a car for less than a couple of trips to GVR. If you don't want a car this trip you may do better just staying on the strip. There will be more to do than you could possibly get in 3-4 days.

Since it appears you're going to coming out to Vegas on a regular basis there's no hurry to see everything. But, let me know either way.

Well, I definitely want to get out to those off-strip casinos at some point. It looks like that's where the real play is. But might be hard on this particular trip. I'll let you know if I think it will work out.

There are some other options as well. Downtown is much closer to the Hilton and you will eventually want to see Fremont street at night. However, you might want to select a warmer month.

Also, Palace Station, the Gold Coast and Palms are well within your reach and they all have good games as well. You can get a shuttle from Harrahs to Rio and the last two are very close.

There are also shuttles to Sam's Town from the strip. See:
