The Hand Pay Conundrum
A Harrah’s AC Seven Stars player two seats away got a $1,400 hand pay on his second hand. Less than an hour later, he hit for $2,150. Attendant was on a first name basis with him. He sure tipped well enough. As I crawled away from the rubble down $300, I asked if he was now up for the year. He shook his head. “Today. I’m up for today.”

It wasn't me. But being Seven Stars, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wasn't even up for "today". Or if he was up, that he wasn't down by EOD.

If you are not familiar with him, don't ask this type of questions. It's annoying. And it's not your business so you don't deserve to know about it.
I’m up for the year, but if you asked me, I’d still say “no, I’m down” just to help your ego to make you feel better as a loser.

And, where is the conundrum?

Ditto! Atomic took all the words I would have typed. I can’t recall ever asking a player that question even good friends of mine. Kind of reminds me of the occasional panhandler who will walk by your machine. If they see substantial credits, they ask you for money! Mohegan Sun promptly bans them!

He was in a great mood and I opted to converse and see if my wisecracking would land. You read someone, see that they are good natured and engage. That’s all it is. Having said that, misery always does love company.

Sorry FAA, sometimes I just can’t help myself…..The Mrs was a fantastic first grade reading comprehension teacher. If you get up to Mohegan, I know she won’t charge you!
