Harrah's Joliet - Tier Credit Multiplier Event, 3-27-26

Post by Tedlark »

So, along with some other people who have posted, I took advantage of a CET 10X Tier Credit multiplier event on Saturday, March 27, 2026. I arrived at about 11:00 pm and settled in front of one of my usual machines and began playing ACJP. Within the first 15 minutes I was dealt 4 to a straight flush and after drawing, I landed the needed card on 4 hands, giving me a nice welcome.

Continuing on the same machine, I wasn't doing much on either ACJP or TDB so I switched to Double Super Times Pay, and:

This machine started to take winnings back in chunks so I decided to see what other machines I could pick on. Harrah's Joliet has installed several new games, including at least 2, Major Multipliers machines so I settled in front of one to play it in a B&M casino. At the .25 denomination, TDB 10 play, I was hoping to nail the elusive 100x multiplier but the best I could manage was a couple 30x multipliers for 3oak. Pretty cool though, getting paid 300 credits for trips. Lost $400.00 in this machine and sat down in front of a Dream Card machine. Began play at the .25 denomination level, TDB 10 play, lost $500.00 in that machine.

Wanting to keep my rep, I went into the High Limit room and sat down in front of an All Star III machine and began playing Joker Poker at $2.00 denomination. Much to my dismay, after getting paid 35 credits for a full house, I checked the pay tables and found it was not ACJP and "only" paid 1,000 credits for 5oak. I switched to TDB and within a couple minutes of switching, I got:

Note that I held A-J suited (I believe the right hold) and I caught quad Aces on one hand and also filled in 4 to the Royal on the first hand. Wondering to myself if I would have caught a kicker if I did not hold the J. Oh well.

Still itching to play ACJP at the $2.00 denomination, I found a 10 play in High Limit that had ACJP on it. Finally!

I did also hit 2 quads at the $2.00 denomination while waiting to get paid.

I was dealt quads 4 other times while playing ACJP at the $1.00 and $2.00 denominations and missed on those.

After almost being a losing session, thanks to the 5oak I caught late in the night, it turned into a nice 5 figure profit and I earned over 7,000 tier credits. I know the maximum multiplier was capped at 4,000 credits but if I stopped when I hit the 4,000 credits mark, I would have missed out on hitting the big one.

Gives me some cabbage for a possible stop at Bizzaro World next week while I'm on the east coast.

WTG Ted! You're well on your way to Seven Star. And good luck if you venture to the "Earth & Sky".

Are you saying Tedlark still isn’t 7‑Star yet? I can’t imagine he plays this much and, after all these years, still hasn’t made it to 7‑Star.

But @Tedlark, there are better games in your casino: 98.98% DDB and 98.91% DW. DW looks like the smarter choice for rewards and points because it has much lower variance, and it pays nearly 2% more than that AC Joker game you chose. I’m sure the five‑of‑a‑kind feels great, but what if you hit a royal? And this AC Joker game which pays only 97% is notorious hard to play accurately, your return could be as low as 95-96% range. Over time, this 3% difference will grind you down. You won't feel it today coz you hit the 4000 jackpot, but it's the boiling‑frog effect.

But congrats.

Thanks for your congrats.

Having no experience with boiling-frogs, I can only offer this to your other suggestions. Thank you for them but I will not be taking them under advisement for some reasons; I do not play DW in any variant I prefer TDB over DDB, and, I don't give a hoot about variance. As for ACJP, I have hit natural royals before when playing the game and it did sting a bit but I managed to move ahead despite this swift kick in the butt.

Regarding Seven Stars, yes, I was at that level for 3 years or so. But, I never took full advantage of the accompanying benefits and, there are other gaming options available to me in my area which I also enjoy patronizing. I gamble in casinos on my schedule and not the casinos schedule. Nor am I a slave to tier benefits and I do not gamble expressly to earn them because that's not why I play in a casino. A casino should value my play REGARDLESS of tier card status but that isn't how they do it. I have enough frying pans in my kitchen, I only need one toaster or hand-held mixer, and I'm not spending $20.00 in gas to go pick up a $20.00 gas card from a casino give away. I don't let a cheap trinket draw me into gambling in a casino after picking up such a "give away."

Good luck to you.

Regarding variance, I add; if I cared about variance, I would not be playing some of the "Gimmick Games" that I enjoy playing.

Again, good luck to you.
