Great comp from Harrah's Total Rewards

Post by damule »

Just received a free 3-night stay invitation at Bally's, Paris, or Rio for Jan 2-5. While this is not uncommon for me as a Diamond Total Rewards player nearing Seven Stars for the first time this year, what is uncommon is what this offer includes: $3000 cash plus up to an additional $10,000 based on rewards credits earned this trip at any Harrah's property. I usually play DDB 10-play supertimes pay for quarters ($15/deal). My usual offers are for free rooms and $300-400 cash, never $3000 plus. Granted at my average play and appr 8 hrs/day I'll earn about 25-30k rewards credits which will give me only an additional $2000 not the maximum $10k, but that's still $5000 free. At Caesar's I can play 9-5 DDB supertimes pay or 9-6 DDB and only give up a little over 1% advantage to the casino, which by my calculations is less than $2500. Sounds like a winner of a promotion for the player in the tune of an expected return of appr $2500. What do you guys think?

I think it's a typo.  But if it isn't, then congrats.I've been a 7* for a couple of years now but never saw that much cash offered.

$3,000 in cash or $3,000 in free slot play? well, even if it's a typo, it would be in their best interests to honor what the offer says.

you mentioned playing at caesars's but that isn't one of the hotels you listed for the free room?

wow, maybe i should start playing at the casinos you are playing at? which casino do you give the most biz too? i average $50-$75/hand at 21 and play 5-play tdb quarter level ($6.25/hand).

the offer i got and that i am redeeming next month is for 3 free nights, all meals comped, massage comped and $250 macy's gift card.

keep us posted and let us know if you are going to use it.

The offer is clearly for $3,000 of CASH or LIVE CHIPS and states it in bold type. As I've said I've gotten offers of $300-400 multiple times before and this one is clearly stated differently. Does not say I even need to play the cash through before eligible. My experiences in the past are very good with the cash offers through Harrah's: check in at registration, go to the TR or Promo counter for voucher, go to cashier for free cash. Never had an issue at all. I do believe it's a completely valid offer because I got a similar from Harrah's/Harvey's in Tahoe for $2,000 cash plus room, meals, airfare from Phoenix and Limo to hotel.

Also, VP, as long as reward credits are earned at a southern Nevada total rewards casino during this stay the additional cash bonus is activated. I can play at Caesars, Harrah's, IP, or the other casinos listed for the free stay. I usually play total rewards credits at Caesars or Harrah's because the pay schedules are better than the other 3. But I like playing mostly at Palms, Green Valley Ranch, and Red Rock. These casinos have the best pay schedules for multiline deuces and DDB of the places I like to stay at. Also, I, too used to play $50-$100/hand at BJ but found multiline VP much less volitale and that the comps add up much quicker. I hardly ever play BJ or craps anymore unless it's a social thing with a few buddies.

Wow. Talk about great comps!

I am but a speck of seasoning in the great video poker pasta bowl. You are the sauce, and it sounds delicious.

Harrah's sent out a number of these I think, with $3,000 cash. I don't believe it's a typo. I think they are already "booked full" on the offer, so you might call to check on it.

Even if it were a typo they by law they would be forced to honor it. About 3 years ago in Illinois Harrahs sent out ELEVEN THOUSAND cash vouchers each in the amount of $525.00. I redeemed mine and immediately walked out, pocketing the quickest $525.00 I EVER, aah, ahem, earned(?). The Illinois Gaming Commission told them they would get fined and/or sued if they didn't.

Called to make the reservation tonight...sure enough they're booked already. I'll call one of my hosts tomorrow and see if I can still get squeazed in. What bothers me is if this offer is booked so quick, will there be any VP machines available to play anyway. Oh well, worst case scenario I guess I could take my $3,000 and play elsewhere. I'll update everyone over the weekend on how I made out with the host.
