Down for the count until Aces!

Post by Lucky Larry »

Wife and I decided to make a quick overnight run to the casino. Since funds were limited we decided to play together on Super Times Pay. No hits and straight down.   Changed to multi-hands 5¢ which have 99% returns and played fair and then cold. Playing 50 hands DWB/SDB/DW or anything that would hit. Down to my last $13 and ready to go up to the room when I decided to switch to Super Aces. First hand was dealt 4 Aces

I was in shock.    A quick $1,000, my wife sitting besides me waiting for me to finish said I didn't even seem to realize the hit. It sure wasn't expected. So did we go up....of course not. Took part and went to play quarters... hit the four deuces and later 4 Aces on Super Aces. Ended up a nice night.

Next morning decided to play $100 on 5¢ and was dealt 5Aces (unfortnately on DW not the Dbl Bonus DW I was playing) on a 100 hands but another nice $400.

Love those nickels.

What's interesting is the difference we feel when the winning occurs after losing. I had one experience this summer where I won over 3000 credits in my last 20 minutes of play. I still ended up behind by close to 700 credits, but what difference in attitude on the trip home. I can only imagine how I would have felt if I had won those credits in the first ten minutes and proceeded to lose it plus the 700 credits.

Of course, I have done that before so I do know and it's quite a bit different. The psychology of the game is something else.

Shadowman,
You are so right when it comes to the emotional connection. Six weeks ago I was so tired of losing I had a negative feeling each time we went. After two G-statements within an hour, I was ready to go every other day!

The interesting dilemma that I now face is trying to revert back to my original practice of taking those big hits and putting them aside and stopping. When the spell is "hot" it is harder to stop than when you are losing. It is even harder when your partner is inclined to continue to play.

In the past, setting a winning goal stopping point was easier to keep. The ability to rationalize is a interesting human trait.

Yea talk about Random.  I remember I hit a royal on my last hand one night.

Even more shocking was one loosing night I hade one foot out the door when I thought I would check my free play on my card.  Sure enough had enough for 2 hands.  Got dealt 4 3 with a 2 on TDB for 2K then moved over to a progressive machine to hit the Special Aces for another 2k and then about 20 minutes later I hit the progressive.  So I turned $10 of free play I didnt even know I had into over 9K.  Go figure....

spxChrome,
Sounds like a great night.

Wife had one where she hit two RF on $'s and quad deuces while waiting for second payout. Then we moved to another casino and we hit played $5/$25 hand VP. $400 in $2k out, moved to next machine $400 in $2250 out followed by a third machine $400 in and $2,500 out. We went to the room at 3:30 but very happy!

These times/memories help me get through the multiple losses..
