One To A Royal -Tomcat Pounces at Aqueduct
Well, it happened again ... and right after I complained in another thread that I'd been having a huge drought at making my one-card royal draws. Playing at Aqueduct casino in Queens, I was dealt Q-J-A-K of clubs. Lo and behold, I drew the 10 of clubs for the $1,000 hit. I was so excited by the miraculous win that I forgot to take a picture -- wonder if that would've been a problem there. Unfortunately, Aqueduct issues a W2G for all winnings of $600 or more since the casino is operated under the auspices of the New York State Lottery. The video poker machine spits out a "restricted" ticket which must be taken to the cage so they can take down your personal info and SSN and give you the W2G

Congratulations. I good to hear that you can actually get a RF at Aqueduct. As you know they have limited VP there. Which machine did you hit on?

TKO, Thanks. I hit on the bank of machines at the lower level 360 Bar. The games are built into the bartop. If you are looking toward the bar from the front (out toward the racetrack), the quarter machines are on the left hand side; there are higher denom machines on the right hand side. There is also another smaller bar on the 5th Avenue level one flight up that also has 9/6 JOB and 8/5 BP games built into the countertop. I'm still unsure whether these are Class II or III machines, but they seem to play pretty fairly with the usual streaks that an RNG type game would exhibit. One odd thing was that I did get a single genie hand toward the end of my second session, which was somewhat strange since I hadn't received one other such hand in over 4 hours of play. On that particular hand I got two pair on the redraw but the genie gave me three of a kind instead.

Congrats. Didn't even think it was possible to do that at the Resorts World Casino New York, since it is under the auspices of the New York State Lottery and is definitely a Class II machine. In other words, if you threw all 4 cards out, you'd get a Royal Flush in a different suit. I know it's nerve-wrecking to do, but I've done it, albeit not so drastically and strictly on an experimental basis. After playing for about 20 minutes and throwing out all the winning hands only to get the same or better hands on the draw, I got dealt 4 Aces and threw them out. Was very curious what I'd get since I cannot get another 4 Aces again. Still got the same payout but using a bonus card. Will never play there again as it requires absolutely no skill: as long as your finger does not get tired, just hit the deal button and see if your lottery ticket won. Good luck.

Tomcat,
Was at Aqueduct last night. They installed a bank of 5 TDB machines. They are backed by 5 Game King games. They are to the left as you enter the casino in front of the rest rooms. Yes, we know they are Class II machines but I was able make a 1k profit. Severa 4 aces. Just letting you known

TKO, congrats. Hopefully none of your wins exceeded the $600 threshold for NYS tax purposes. Did you get any genie hands while playing those machines? Did you notice how others seemed to be faring on that bank?

Tomcat,
I was able to stay under the radar from NYS....lol. With the 4 aces, (800 credit win) I cashed out 2 tickets each for 500.00. I think I got the genie like twice. She did nothing for me. Where is Barbara Eden when you need her...lol. As far as other people, I really didnt see anyone sit down and invest any real time. Most played nickels. I was playing dimes and quarters.

TKO, nice wins -- even sweeter since non-taxable to you. Those TDB machines must be the only ones at lower than quarter denom in the whole place.
