Last AC Trip for the summer
I tend to avoid Atlantic city during the Peak summer months of July & August, I'm not in to the whole carnival atmosphere on the boardwalk and everything becomes too much of a hassle and pain (as well as more expensive) during this time. So my last visit until Labor day will be next week, june 22 thru june 29 ...I have comp rooms at the Trop, trump plaza and Resorts lined up. I have made a FEW visits during peak season in the past, usually when some incredibly good offer shows up in my e-mail or snail mail. And my experience in the past playing Video Poker in AC during the summer simply sucks.....now I dont want to start another "VP is sometimes rigged" debate, but has anyone else noticed the same thing, that in AC during summer, it is more difficult to turn a profit? I mean, my results during peak season as opposed to ANY other comparable period in AC is really stark and dramatic, in a bad way. It is not a simple explanation like "well more people are playing so progressives and royals in general get hit more regularly"....I've had more dead sessions and zero value hands in July-August at the 6 or 7 AC properties I've played at than during any other 2-3 month period any other time of the year. This is over the years 2009, 2010 and last year..... Instead of AC over the summer, I will be playing in a couple Foxwoods poker tournaments (texas Hold em) and a August weeks stay at Mohegan for a slot tourney and poker tourney.

Was in AC June 9th - 13th at Caesars and video poker sucked there more than usual. I couldn't even hit 4oak. Played upstairs where I usually can hit, but no luck, played downstairs, no luck. Wife played the Double Joker Progressive by the Toga Bar one morning and kept hitting pretty good. Built up to about $300 and I told her to stay on the machine. I went over to the other progressive machines and in about a minute she hit theroyal holding two cards for $2069. She was happy.

Well this ought to be interesting. I've got a trip coming up in July to Caesars (going to see Blue Man Group), and I'm trying to put together a little golf outing with my quarterly golf comp for my buddies, maybe July, so I'll have to report back how things went.
