Winning Streak Video Poker

Post by melmel »

I was in Caesars two weeks ago, right before you get to the Forum Shops in the Vegas location, I saw some new machines. I never win on those machines. But I saw a new one, it was Winning Streak Poker. It is essentially Multi Strike but as long as you get a winning hand you continue to play. Well I was hooked. About 500 bucks in and I get 4 aces with a kicker on the bottom, on Triple/Triple bonus poker. Just starting to get the hang of this game I had to really think about the next hand. I got two pair, so this 4oak aces with kicker moves up to next row for a 2x, then the next hand I get a pair of kings and the 4 aces now moves up to the 5x level, so I am guaranteed 20,000 quarters, next hand I get 4,5,6,7 hearts and a jack, one more good hand and I get 40,000 quarters, i keep the straight flush draw and of course the next card is another jack of clubs, oh well, I cant complain 5k. That machine sucks the cash fast, but it was a ton of fun, didn't have phone or I would have taken a picture.

So, if you have kept the J on the top line, instead of the four to the StFlush, and paired the J's, would that bottom line move up to the top line also?

Sounds interesting.  I'm in need of a new VP game.  Hopefully the game will catch on and we'll see them showing up at more casinos.

So like multi strike video poker it costs a lot, it is 25 credits total, whether you lose on the first hand or not, however like mentioned before, if I had the jacks paired, all hands move up, once the bottom hand got to the top you get paid on the top hand, then if you hit the very bottom hand it can continue, then the third hand moves up and you get a 10X on that hand.  Your game continues as long as you win on the bottom hand, if you get jacks or better 20 times in a row, you continue until the bottom hand doesnt end up jacks or better after the draw.  So on the downside you lose automatically all 25 credits if the bottom hand is a loser, on the upside, you play until jacks or better on the bottom hand does not occur.  So I was playing quarters, it was 25 quarters each deal, the machine was .25,.50,1.00.  Even at .25 the money went fast, there is a you tube video of the winning streak poker that may better explain than I am doing.  Again the machines are just before you get to the forum shops on the left, they are the first set you come to on the left . Also I had never seen triple triple bonus, it pays greater on some of the kicker hands, cant remember it all, but it was nice to try something new, and nice to win as well.

Nice hit!

Yeah, I'll be looking for this Triple Triple Bonus at Horseshoe Hammond when I make it to Chicago next. The play money game at playerslife.com set the play money table to > 100%...lol So my hope is it's set high for real money. But the Winning Streak game is buggy on the play site, winning streaks longer than 4 hands aren't always banked. :(

This is what the > 100% pay table looked like:
Royal 800
SF 50
4 Aces w/2,3,4 800
4 Aces 160
4 2-4 w/Ace 800
4 2-4 w/2,3,4 400
4 2-4 80
4 5-K 50
Full House 10
Flush 6
Straight 3
Three of a Kind 2
2 pair 1
Jacks or Better 1

Biggest changes over Triple Double Bonus in bold.

And I hate to break it to ya, but you goofed a bit on the last hand since you had such a royal paying hand sitting at 5X. But its ~close. With 4h 5h 6h 7h Jc, you have a 15/47 = 0.3192 chance to hit a winning hand holding the SF draw while if you just held Jc you would have had a 0.3376 probability to hit a winner. So for this particular hand, holding Jc is the best play since nothing else really matters except advancing the AWAK to the next level. It cost you about $100 in expected value, but I might have made the same mistake in the heat of the moment. And this also is why this game and MultiStrike are tricky games to play! Also $100 doesn't mean anything when you hit $5000! Congrats!

without a doubt, you played the last hand the correct way! You're supposed to play very conservatively to move your "Good hand" up to the next level. Holding 4 with an open-ended straight flush draw is certainly better chances at winning than a bare J.

I saw this game in Tunica, MS a few weeks ago. I hit one decent hand on it but lost maybe $100 on it overall. It was fun. I always enjoy playing something new!

I guess you didn't read my long, rambling post closely. Holding the Jack is actually better than the open-ended straight flush draw in this situation because making any winning hand is slightly higher with the Jack only. This game is quite complex, and leads to frequent, significant player errors, and it's sad that good paytables still don't really exist for this game because the casino will still make plenty off this game even with good paytables.

Curious to know though, where did you see it in Tunica? I might take a stab at it if it's available for nickels.

You can play this game free, and without any sign-in, at Caesars' Games website.

Just select "More Games" on the tab on the left, and then you can select "Winning Streak" and "Triple Triple Bonus Poker" to play.

Unfortunately I know this. I pulled this off about a month ago and won zero dollars.
