trip to vegas
hello all, I did not write for a while because I do not take my laptop to VEGAS! I am so discouraged after my trip I did not want to post, first night went to GREEN VALLEY RANCH and 1400.00 in I hit 4 aces w/kicker for 2000.00 good night. The second day went to the SILVERTON and put 1600.00 thru a BOB DANCER APPROVED machine(full pay) with no 4 of a kind! I understand that DDB has ups and downs but damn thats a lot of hands playing on win poker playing correctly. The next day I played at the PALMS and I know DB is very hard to master but 2300.00 with no 4 of a kind is wrong and bad luck but overall I went 5 days without a four of a kind in VEGAS! It sounds unreal but I did!!!!! on full pay machines! SO PLEASE someone tell me how I continue to practice and lose my ass and tell myself to hang in there!

Dry spells like that between quads aren't real unusual. I get a fair amount of play in every year and usually end up with 3-4-5 quads over the course of each year that take a couple of hours to get. The back-to-back-to-back ones you describe I'd consider unusual, but nothing more than "beating the odds" in a bad way. It's not that your strategy is bad, it was just a bad run. Don't know what else to say.

Yeah, I understand THAT! I only make it to Vegas a few times a year, and I prefer to get those kinds of runs out of the way here in CO instead of Vegas.

On a trip to Suncoast back in 2002 I played four days of DB off and on without a single quad. The only good news on that trip was a RF and some other good hits at Arizona Charlies on a side trip. I've had other good and bad streaks also. This one was the worst at DB.
Hopefully, you'll experience the good side of streaks in the near future.

I understand why you continued to chase a jackpot on those machines. Were you playing multi-game machines? I think it's best to try different games, even non-fp JOB, if necessary.

Switching games provides no advantage or disadvantage. If you want to switch that is fine but don't kid yourself into believing it provides better results.

Jinx! Jinx! After writing about how uncommon that kind of a dry spell is, I went to a local casino today and had a 3 1/2 hour dry spell between quads. Worst spell for me this year. Are you the Jonah for starting this thread, or am I for replying? (Laughing).
P.S. - If you've had a chance to visit one of your local casinos since the bad Vegas trip I hope you had a nice run as make-up.

As I said before, the kind of dry spell you had in Vegas really is unusual. While anything can happen in VP, it really would be quite unusual for that kind of spell to happen again in the near future. Really! Keep your chin up.
