March 2014 Biloxi Trip #2
Returned last night from my second trip in March up to The Beau Rivage in Biloxi. If there can be such a thing as a fabulous trip with poor gaming results, this was it. The main reason for the trip was to attend the Champions Golf Tour event held there annually. My birthday always falls during the week of this tournament, so that makes it very special for me. But, of course, they have a casino there, so gaming was also on the agenda.
I was blanked in VP all week. Even a day trip over to Harrahs New Orleans proved fruitless. I did have some success in slots, and won overall playing table games. In total, however, it was a losing trip gaming-wise.
At this stage of my life, I am all about new experiences, and this trip did not disappoint me. I arrived, got up to my two-bath suite, and set up in one of the bathrooms. Of course, the toilet would not work, so I moved everything to the other bathroom, and called for repairs. About two days later, THAT toilet stopped working, so I moved back to the repaired bathroom. Thank heavens for two bathrooms.
One evening, I was really tired, and decided to call it an early night. I was alone in the VIP elevator, going to the top floor. When it arrived, the door started to open, but then the elevator dropped about six inches, and the door slammed shut. All the buttons were dead, but the floor indicator still said 29. I rang the alarm button, security called the elevator guy, and 30 minutes later I stepped up those six inches as he held the door open for me, safely on my floor. When I got to my room, I prayed that at least ONE of my toilets would work.
So, without any VP pics to share, here are a couple of things from the week.
When I put my card in to play, the machines greeted me..
---
---
I played in two Pro-Ams during tournament week. My team, with Scott Dunlap as my pro, won the first Pro-Am. I had Dana Quigley as my Pro in the second Pro-Am, a gentleman that I have known for years, and an avid VP player. I even gave him an "I Love VP.Com" button to wear in the casino. How's that for free advertising, WebMan.
---
---
My caddie, who has caddied for me before, was a lovely young lady (over 21) from the golf team at Southern Mississippi. She is a senior, a journalism major, and had the opportunity to work with The Golf Channel a few days during the tournament. We had a great time.
---
---
I attended a Michael Bolton concert. I was pleasantly surprised at his talent, and he turned in a very entertaining show. I also had the backstage pass, so I chatted with him for a bit after the show. Very nice guy.

---
Next it's off to Tunica, Mississippi next week. I will be playing golf, a little gaming, and of all things, attending an NBA game in Memphis. That is a another first for me..

Somehow, Billy, you always seem to know how to take us on your trip with you. Thanks. Sounds like another great time, and you always make lemonade.
BTW-Happy Belated Birthday.

Unlike my crooked, tea-yellowed smile. But she is teaching me yoga.. Yeah, that'll be another first for ya Billyjoe, seeing such a nubile young beauty doing a "Downward facing dog".......I hope you have your camera phone all charged up prior to Yoga......Seriously, what type of Yoga is it? This is crucial since you have never done yoga before and you could injure yourself (or worse)....I hope it is Hath/Vinyasa type Yoga, this is the slow paced steady breathing-centric practice ideal for people of your advanced ....learning Whatever you do, avoid Ashtanga / Iyengar Yoga which is basically almost like Shadow Kickboxing with some wrestling with yourself thrown in.....AND ABOVE ALL ELSE, DO NOT LET HER TAKE YOU INTO A BIKRAM YOGA session (a.k.a. "HOT YOGA"), whereby you sit in a steam room at 105 degree Fahrenheit and perform a moderate paced Yoga program for up to 60 minutes!!! Not only would that not help you, it might Kill you! Only up side is, your caddie might perform mouth to mouth and pump your.....er, chest. Come to think of it, not a bad way to check out.....

Believe me, Burglar, I take EVERYTHING slow and easy, escpecially with a young lady like that. Plus, no group sessions - only one on one.

Good report Billyjoe. And nice pic with the caddie there.
And when was your birthday again? Mine was the 20th. Sam's Town card reader wished me Happy Birthday and let me win $20, but those bastard machines at Tunica Roadhouse didn't wish me one and took back that $20 I won!
Too bad you didn't have Tunica and Biloxi switched, so we could chat again.

The birthday greeting was at The Beau on 3/24. The machines then took all my money, too..
Belated Happy Birthday, VMan..

What table games do you like to play?
I will play just about any table game, although I am not a Pai Gow Poker, Roulette or Baccarat fan. I dabble in craps, but mostly BJ and Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em.
I usually do not bet high enough, though, at the tables to offset the VP loses, if I have a bad VP trip.
