The Overall State of things in General
I was just musing in another thread how Olds444jetaway and myself were discussing our favorite "Young Frankenstein" moments, and how this seems to be a indication of just how crappy and dead the state of Video Poker has become!Where is everyone? what happened to all the nice pictures of winning hands and big payouts?I think it is finally catching on (and up) with everyone......Video Poker is totally in the crapper. I am not talking only about AC now, I mean in general.....Bob Dancer will insist otherwise, and I will concede that for him and his massive empire and momentum as the reigning KING of video poker he is probably still able to eke out a positive net result with all his promotional and comp playing sessions taking advantage of even the smallest edge.....but for everyone else, the efforts by casinos to kill paytables and slash comps and benefits for video poker players has left us bereft of possible winning sessions, or even break even!Things have clearly changed for the worse: casinos are screwing with machines in ways that may not technically violate whatever regulations prevail in the given market or location that the casino(s) operate, but whatever they are doing is resulting in fewer royals and premium hands and more LONNNNGGGG losing streaks and sessions for us players. It is undeniable now.ANyone who has seriously played video poker for a long time (since 1990 lets say), cannot possibly deny that the game today is nothing like it once was, for a wide variety of reasons. Only in a handful of increasingly obscure Vegas casinos is it still possible to play (as Bob Dancer puts it) in an ADVANTAGE position. But how much of an advantage and what profit will you actually attain? I played video poker because I found it to be FUN, but the main thing that made it FUN was the fact that with perfect play on the right paytables, you stood a decent chance of turning a small profit, a better chance of breaking even or at least losing only a small amount while racking up decent comps and benefits. those days are gone

i really hope i meet you someday tedlark, so I can see if you really have the B****s to be this mean, nasty, antisocial etc to me in person. I really really do, because I have done nothing to deserve this. Its just you exercising your rights, your right to be a complete dick to someone you decided you cannot stand simply on the basis of what that person writes and posts on a open forum (where he is exercising the same rights.)I post what I post about video poker, and you immediately follow up everyone of my posts with just plain mean spirited ridiculous, unproductive dreck. you really are sad

When have I ever called you a d**k? If you do feel that I: mock you; taunt you, or make snotty(?) remarks its because you open yourself up to it. Rarely in my opinion, are your posts insightful, but rather they are: inciteful.

One day he may very well be proved right but his delivery of the message doesn't work well to convert non-believers. I maintain my message that goes like this: "if a player thinks that there is something wrong with a game, or a machine, don't play it." Take up another game, one that you think you have a better chance of winning. Or invest the time into a new hobby; knitting, latch hook rugs, collecting butterflies or square dancing.

stabbed myself with the knitting needle, tripped over the latch hook rug, caught some butterfiles, but had to release them so they could pollinate the plants on the deck, and square dancing.....uh...not for me...The other hobbies while fun for awhile, just seem to collect dust over time. So that leaves video poker and beautiful women ( woman in my case). Wife are you are you listening...
