What about what everyone else has said?
Somehow, thanks to the "zeal" of a certain poster, I have personally become too prolific a champion of the "what's wrong with video poker" cause; plus my original points have been buried in the turd pile that this poster helped turn my threads and posts into, all semblance of order and clarity lost (which was probably his objective)......so I want to re-direct this topic back to OTHER posters who have posted their own take on things and what's going on....MANY posters have said things have changed, for the worse, in terms of video poker, and it is not simply crappy paytables;Several posters have said they have MUCH less w-2s these last few years than in prior years, indicating a precipitous dropoff in handpays and jackpots. No one is flatout claiming they have had a winning year any time recent.....Well???

I do not doubt your observations that VP has changed over the last few years, But I personally attribute it to the advances in VP technology, as I have stated previously. I still believe that the games are fairly set, but with lower paytables and the machine performing continuous shuffling and re-seeding, the 'feel' is certainly different, and the results are poorer.
It is a darn, difficult game to consistently beat. Getting lucky on a few hits in high volitility games, like TDB, is the only way, IMO, to break out ahead. The rest of the time, enjoy and maximize the comps that you are offered, and manage your gaming bankroll.

A certain someone (synonymous with vocalist) claimed to win often. Aside from being terribly lucky, all one can do is deal with the punches of playing VP. You're not going to become wealthy playing unless you're a high stakes player and your swings will be even greater.
Sure I enjoy winning and hitting that elusive RF but I also enjoy just sitting and playing.
Enjoy your time away from home DaBurglar and try not to dwell on getting bunk deals. I do. Good luck to you

Thanks for being one of the few people to not ignore my post billyjoe, I was sincere and earnest in making this post and wanted all the people who "RANT about my RANTING" to chime in with some honest thoughtful insight on the other aspects of this issue. But what you typed is worth commenting on: You say the results are poorer because the "feel" is different? You agree that it is harder to win and your results have been off, so that much is clear and we agree on, but the question remains, WHY? Why should the changes to the game, IN AND OF THEMSELVES< result in neccessarily POORER overall net results IF THE GAME IS STILL THE SAME at its core AND STILL FAIR AND UNTAMPERED OR UNDOCTORED????

I think I mentioned somewhere in a recent post that I have only one W-2G so far this year. I think 9 last year. By the way the one was either 20 or 21 quarters in on Deuces Wild and not even a Royal. No Royal since last Sept. For me the different feel is an understatement.

I blame it on that darned space shuttle. I don't know what I'm blaming on darned the space shuttle but I'm blaming it on the darned space shuttle. Until someone shows me that it isn't the darned space shuttle's fault, I'm blaing the darned space shuttle. Or maybe quite possibly global warming?

No, you misinterpreted what I said. I did not say that the 'feel' caused poorer results. I said that there is a different 'feel' to VP machines, today versus several years ago. I attribute that different 'feel' to the changes in technology, such as continuous shuffling and re-seeding. I DID NOT say that was the reason for poorer results.
I honestly do not know why some people are experiencing poorer VP results. When playing a less than full pay machine, the more that you play, the closer to the Expected Return you will probably get.

This was a very accurate statement to play by a few years ago, but is this an accurate statement for today's play? I hope I am wrong, I feel like the rest of you and enjoy a FAIR chance at VP.

Ok well sorry if you feel I misinterpretted what you wrote above, I was disappointed that, once again when I try to get everyone to discuss and analyze perceived areas where we are all IN AGREEMENT, instead of poking and jabbing at every disagreement or difference, no one has anything to say.......you did and I was initially grateful. Working backwards on your statement, you ended with "results are poorer", and I assumed that this included YOU personally. And since immediately prior to the poorer results conclusion, you referenced the changes and difference in Video Poker over the past few years (like the still-unsettled debate on RE-seeding, and what this does to our overall game results), I drew the misinterpretation I am guilty of.....
