Friday nite at Mohegan Sun

Post by olds442jetaway »

The wife and I were able to get coverage to watch the folks, and were able to make a trip up for part of the evening. Started out with a nice steak dinner in the Lounge and a really good but long show. The highlight of the show was Christina Perry and her last song and one of my favorites was Jar of Hearts. That is the one that made her famous about 5 years ago. Even though I am an oldster, I do like some of the modern music.
We couldn't get a room at a decent rate, so we decided to play for a few hours after the show before heading home. The Mrs. played 9/6 job, but the quads were few and far between so not a good outing for her as far as the play goes. After the show, I noticed the lone Nickel Multi-Strikeout machine (as I call it ) was open so I gave it a whirl. I played Double Bonus Deuces Wild which is the only Deuces Wild game available on this machine. The paytable isn't bad at 20/9.
Right off the bat, I noticed the quads with hitting way more than average. I decided to play max bet at the nickel level for a few minutes. Since they allow 10 to be bet per line, each play cost me 2 bucks. In less than an hour, the following hands hit. The original 20 in free play had turned into into 253 bucks. Here are the major hits.
5 3's on the third line, 4 deuces on the 2nd line, back to back 5 5's on the second line, several straight flushes, and a couple of wild royals on the bottom line.
The Royal continues to elude me for 2015. I think I am well over 800k hands played now without one. Luckily, though not even close to even for the year, the deuces quads have been coming about when they should this year.
What I should have done next I didn't do. Instead of pocketing 200 and playing with 53, I did the reverse. Blew the 200 on Double Down Stud Deuces Wild game hoping of course for dealt deuces quads. That would have given me a grand on the quarter game. Not to be this time though. I have hit several of them so far this year.
Had some late night coffee and bagels with the Mrs. before heading home. All in all, the trip was enjoyable and good for stress relief from some of the medical stuff going on with the folks. Had to keep the speed way down on the way home. Saw 17 deer in various places along the highway. All alive fortunately and none darted out in front of the car. I also caught a quick glimpse of a Bobcat part way home. That is not all that unusual anymore in Ct. Too bad they are wild. That would be my ideal housecat, but I don't know if I could afford the grocery bill.
