Royal in Iowa
I've been going about 30 minutes north of where I live the past 18 months or so to the Diamond Jo Casino near Northwood, IA to get my "fix". I'd say I'm about even if I add up my winnings and losses over that time period.
Saturday night, being depressed that Iowa lost to Iowa State, I drove up for a session. I was probably there for an hour, not losing too much or winning too much. The Game Master single hand I was sitting at dealt me quad 4's for $500, which definately had me feeling better about the football loss. I cashed out & went to play some 10 play STP. That didn't pan out too well, so went back to the same machine I'd hit the quads on.
I had been there less than five minutes when I was dealt the Q, K, 10 of hearts. Dropped the two other cards, hit DEAL, and up pops the A & J of hearts. Royal!!! I played for about another ten minutes, cashed out, went home up about $1,300 for the trip. Quads & a Royal on the same machine in about an hour. That felt good!
I'm planning on going down to the Isle of Capri Casino in Waterloo in a few weeks to play a little 100 Hand VP. Has anyone played those there yet?
Alomost Forgot! I was playing a five reel penny slot for about a half hour when I first arrived because most of the VP machines were occupied. I'd been there about twenty minutes when the lady sitting next to me hit all the bonus reels for a 2007 Ford Mustang! She took the cash, $18,500.00. That's the second car in two weeks there.
