BOB DANCER---HELP!!!!
Dear Bob,
I know you have some clout with Southpoint. As I'm sure you know, they just downgraded the four Quick Quad DDB machines. This was my favorite game in LV---to hell with the double points. Please plead with them to upgrade the game back and exclude from double points, if necessary. Nobody likes to play Double Bonus QQ--every time you get Aces or low quad with a kicker, you "kick" yourself. Can't you please do something!?!?!?! Thanks.

You could play at Ellis Island if you're playing quarters or less if multipliers don't matter to you. Or MGM Grand at dollars for as little as one line. 25/50/100 play games have adjustable lines.

Mr. Dancer posted about the QQ downgrade at SouthPoint on the vpFREE forum as well. On the feed someone mentioned this:

Rumor has it that the 50 play QQ in high limit at MGM is an AP trap. The theo is set at essentially zero and whoever plays that game is monitored and gets extra scrutiny on all their casino activity. I would like to hear if anyone who plays that game gets any decent offers from MGM.

Thanks.I have already posted about this both here and on vpFREE --- but apparently you missed it.The DDB QQ machines are gone from the South Point. Decision has been made. Period. Any begging and pleading I do on the subject will not be successful and will just irritate Gaughan and the other managers there. That will reduce any clout I have in the future.Machines being downgraded periodically has happened at every casino --- and has been happening for years and years. Get used to it. It's a fact of life for video poker players. If you want to complain directly to the South Point, be my guest. But please do not drag me into your fight. Part of the "wisdom" of being 69 years old is learning when to pick your fights and when to accept that you aren't going to be successful on a particular one.

I assume a lot of games set like that on the strip that are set very well may be AP traps.
The game I often play at my local likely isn't though, it's an older unit and the nickel/dime payouts are horrendous compared to quarter/50c.

Bob,
I just now found and read the thread on QQ on this forum (in the past I had just reviewed the Strategy, Stories and Rec Play categories--I guess I'll have to expand my reading). I apologize for having brought up this issue again, after it had been thoroughly discussed Anyway, I do appreciate your efforts to keep the other QQ games in play, although I doubt I'll play any of them. In all the years I've played the QQ, never once been dealt either Aces or Aces with Kicker--congrats on the MLK hit.

So far the most prominent traps I've heard was the $5 Bonus Poker one at the Suncoast from Mr. Dancer's LVA column, the machines that are $15 coin in per point at the Wynn, and the "Up to 99.8% payback" at the Stations casinos. Although it no longer exists, I also thought the 9/6 Jacks or Better machines at the NYNY which awarded no tier points was also some sort of trap.
I heard rumors that the average operations team in Vegas casinos are way more intelligent than that of the ones outside of Vegas. I would first see if there are people frequently playing on them, and also see if the same people are able to play on them over a set of time. I did grow kind of suspect at the Gold Coast where there was nobody playing at the "Up to 99.8% payback" bank the 3 or 4 times of the day that I checked. I played a little bit of Triple Bonus+ and DDB Aces and Faces. It was easy to grab a seat on the 10/6 DDB bank at the Palms since it was empty.
Being restricted from receiving mailers will hurt for me personally since I would rather have a hotel room to stay at while in Vegas and avoid paying the weekend rates.

That couldn't have been a trap. There was no slot to put in a players card, iirc. Now the "Up to 99.73% VP" currently at Cromwell (for $50 a point) might be. I put in my card in for a bit there last week since I never gain anything significant from CET anyway. I can't grind subpar VP at CET properties in Vegas. Rather just pay for the rooms unless I can see the math being worth it (doubtful).

I have not been to NYNY in a very long time (too many casinos in Vegas) so it was not right for me to make such an assumption that it is a trap; I did not even know there was no place to put in the card as it would be pointless to. For the quarter VP at CET, I was baffled out of all the places they put in the special quarter bank at a higher end place in the Cromwell than a lower end place like the Bally's or Harrah's.
I heard that CET is ADT based and they assign a theoretical loss value to each machine. I did a search on this forum in the past and I recall Mr. Dancer stating that the 9/6 JoB which requires $25 coin in per point has a theoretical value assigned to 0, thus I would imagine that bank at the Cromwell would produce no hotel offers with a similar 0 theo rating. I only get discounted hotel room rates, and I think it is worth $30+resort fees to stay at the Rio.
Speaking of CET, some folks on the vpFREE message board reported that there have been downgrades at Harrah's Reno (no more 9/6 JoB) and Harrah's New Orleans (no more 9/6 JoB except for $100 denom, NSU Deuces downgraded to Illinois Deuces).
