Flip the Win switch back on!!

Post by Lucky Larry »

Love these stories. Our daughter was sharing her tales from this past weekend over dinner tonight. She is a stamina player. She will play VP for 8-10 hours/day. At one of the weekend haunts she was playing next to two high rollers. She's playing 25¢/50¢ Spin depending on how play was going. They are playing $1/$2 Spin ($45/$90/Spin) They are talking about their play. One has played over 10 hours and has caught Aces on 3X and no RF during that time. The other moans of only 2X Aces and no RF. They request a conversation with the Slot Supervisor and their Host. They proceed to berate the two since the casino has obviously turned the machines off or they would have hit more big hands. The ten hour player even states, "Look I hit for $30K last night and I've played it all back. That just shows you've turned them off!"

She just laughed after hitting Aces and then a Royal during her 2 hours of play. She was so glad the casino had "turned on the machines for her".

Congrats to your daughter Double L, sometimes you gotta wonder if luck was ignoring the two wheels and paying attention to your daughter.

Nice story Double L and congrats to your daughter on a good session. I did not know Spin Poker can get that brutal, but I liked the way your daughter mocked those guys!

I do not think I can stand playing that long, I loathe cross country plane rides.

I have heard the "casino button" story quite a few times.  It's always from someone who is losing.  I smile and say I wish they would turn it back on.

They should have insisted that the $30,000 be issued in check form. Then spend whatever petty cash they had on their persons the next day. You cannot fix stupid, particularly when coupled with entitlement. Your daughter had two hours for the ages!

It was a crowded day and I sat down to play surely by those same 2 people. Moaning and groaning about the switch. I had played about 10 minutes and hit Aces on Super Aces. When my favorite attendant came to pay me I asked "Anthony, did you turn on that switch"? He smiled and said "Yes, I did it just for you". 😂😂.
They quit moaning because they stopped talking completely.

This was a good one.

As for LL's story, reading it makes me sad for the hosts/slot managers. Losing $30k at $90 a pop is far from impossible if you play all day!   Glad your daughter did well. They probably were irritated with her winning too. Lol

With SERVER based systems, however, it is theoretically possible to do just that, have a "Switch", or some "setting", that can globally impact the games being played in some very specific way.......this of course does not automatically mean that just because such a function or ability exists that any given casino can or will  employ it......but it is possible with server based systems.   Anyone who has worked with or utilized a server based system (in ANY business or industry) knows the capabilities.....That being said, it is likely the games Larrys daughter (and the two dolts) were playing were legit......10 hours of absolute coldness and despair is a common happening to all video poker players who are serious about their play;  everyone runs cold at some point, except tedlark.

Regularly, when a machine hits a jackpot the 'Terminal Disabled' light comes on and the machine goes out of service about 15 minutes. I was told the State does this to review it. So there really is a switch even though it's hundreds of miles away. I'm not certain what capabilities it has but still interesting.

Hopefully, I will disable a machine before year's end! Unlikely on my limited dollar JOB play. The Disable Dream continues.
