"Get Me A Suit!" Battling with Vegas Beancounters
Hey everyone! I recently completed another trip to Fabulous Las Vegas! Had a great time as usual. And now I have done the arduous task of writing up a trip report with tons of pictures.
Unfortunately using google photos to host pics causes a problem with posting pics with this site. So it's easier for me to link my posted TR from another forum. I'm "tringlomane" there. I hope to have Part 2 of 2 up by tomorrow.

Outstanding report as usual! It took me awhile to enjoy the first part of the report, but I am amazed there will be a part 2 to this. Royal Flusher blog usually has 10+ parts where you have to wait a couple of days in between.
Was hoping you guys made it out to Mr. Dancer's class at the SouthPoint for Day 2, but instead M got to celebrate the birthday with some outstanding meals. Vegas is a nice place for foodies, some people in the past I know find it hard to avoid gaining two or three pounds each trip. These reports constantly remind me there is so much to explore in Vegas, but I end up pissing my time there on the gambling aspects. Also glad to see you've managed to get your share of beer despite the rumors of it being harder to get it comped nowadays.
Nice views of the T-Mobile Arena, Downtown Vegas, Cosmopolitan, and the Aria. There's always a nice shot of the strip in each of your reports. Mirage looks much nicer than it used to be, I still have to return there someday even though their VP is decimated.
I've also tried Google+ Picassa Albums here in the past to post images but to no avail. Google+ has security settings to restrict who gets to view, even if you set it to Public access, the URL is to a secure request site where it forwards back a website with the image embedded. I think this forum is using an outdated system to be able to support such forwarded requests.
The VegasFanatics forum definitely looks modern and has much more bells and whistles. Another gambling forum that the great "tringlomane" is a part of, the best part being the expressions/feelings are let out at the car rental part.
Looking forward to part 2, I am predicting there will be a Royal Flush.

Great start.
All those fancy IPA beers you drink encouraged me to branch out from Miller Lite. Lagunitas IPA and Sumpin Sumpin are favorites of mine. Sculpin is great too, but $15 per 6 pack!
Kaboom - that is a real oldie.

Going out to South Point on Wednesday definitely did cross my mind. I would have liked to say hello to Bob. But Wednesday was a tough day to do so. That was the first full pool day. She likes the Monte Carlo pool, and we also get access to Cosmo's pools as identity members on Mon.-Thurs. only. And we had to use the Aria/Mirage buffets while we were staying at MGM properties.
We make it to South Point in Part 2...but it wasn't pretty.
And yeah, there probably is some block with the google hosting site here. I didn't really want to take the lazy route, but threading all these pics within the text takes a good amount of effort.

Yeah, I began to like Kaboom! from a WMS PC program. As well as Merlin's Ring Quest, which I shockingly found at NY NY and played for while, no good wins tho. :(
Yeah, Sculpin is good, but not worth $15/6. You're in Chicagoland right? You have a lot good choices locally. It might be out of season now, but Half Acre Vallejo IPA is really good, and their "Gone Away" IPA isn't far behind. Revolution Anti-Hero IPA is a nice choice as well. Recently I've also enjoyed Against the Grain's "Citra Ass Down" out of Louisville. That's pricy too, ~$12 for 4 pints, but I think it's better than Sculpin.
But now, Sculpin is fairly available on the Vegas Strip, so I saved my consumption of it for there. haha
And I also think it's hard to go wrong with Lagunitas. Almost anything they have made that I've tried, I've liked, and its usually not overpriced. And most CET Vegas properties also offer it at the bars now too.

Thanks Galeygoo! I tend to be very detailed on these. Probably too much so for some. But I've learned that helped me remember so much more of the trips I've bothered to do this with.
And here is Part 2.

Holy smokes, 8 days! 3 nights is my max. After all those boozy beers, I am surprised you can still gamble, take clear pics and find your way back to the room.
I was sure it was gonna be you that hit the royal at Tag.

Sorry to hear that the Royal Flush I predicted on Part 2 was not yours or M's. I do trust the Nevada Gaming Commission's regulations on the RNG, the deal/draw has to be hit at the precise moment to achieve the 1 in 178365 outcome of a Royal Flush after holding an Ace. $20 tip from the lady, probably looks like a frequent table game player to me.
Thanks for a more in-depth report all around, I can understand that it takes a lot to get these reports done, even though my efforts are 2 day stay's worth.
I do not think highly of the features on this forum, but to help make posting reports with pictures more efficient: (1) I use a free text editor program like Notepad++ to write (2) I upload all the images to postimg.org (3) that image hosting site will generate links to each individual image (4) I just copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) the links over. (5) I do a replace (ctrl+h) command

I got to enjoy reading about places on the Strip that I have not returned in 10 years, most partly due to the fact I have a personal vendetta against Caesars Entertainment.
I'm sure M will not let you spend time alone after those two encounters with the hookers. The quality of life within the inside the casinos are much better as evidenced on your pictures than the locals casinos, but not so much outside where it is warm.
For a casino like Aria, nice to know about the Row 802, 8/6 Boner Deluxe for quarters (6 for STP and 7 for DSTP) is amazing compared to what you get elsewhere for quarter denomination now. Also nice to know Cromwell still has those good quarter games, and a nice run on DW this time around compared to last time.
The trip report title does reflect what I learned the most out of it, "Get me a suit!" to waive off the resort fees, I try to achieve a level of play where I will not have to pay it. Fortunately M's father level of play allowed you and M to stay on the Strip properties, and most of those watered down myVegas rewards now require a 3 night stay to redeem unfortunately except for Tender steakhouse deal. I wonder out of speculation of what your trip will be like if you had to go to Vegas without the company of M; despite the encounter at the SouthPoint. I think the American Casino Guide had $5 free play for signing up and 300 points for buffet offer for SouthPoint. I hope M understands that the best places to play were at Ellis Island, South Point, Fremont, MSS, Gold Coast, and the Orleans out of the places you've guys been.
It's hard to survive on the strip with their gambling odds.

I am surprised too. I feel buzzed after one bottle of an IPA that has over 6.5% ABV. A glass of champagne and/or mimosa at 11% ABV makes me miserable for the night. But I feel fine after 3 bottles of lower ABV beers like Shocktop/Stella Artois, the math does not add up. I am sure Vman and M built up their tolerance levels over the years.

Vman-you should submit on of your TR's (particularly this one) to the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce..... I CAN NOT WAIT to get back to Vegas after seeing these incredible pictures and the stories behind them. Anyone wishing to help me can go to "Fund me/Galeygoo at vp.com"

I sorta titled Day 5 intentionally to make it sound like one of us was lucky. I'm still a little bummed over it. Also on the other forums I have posted this TR on, many other VP centric people hit royals this month for quarters and higher. One of them hit it with the dreaded Ace-Ten suited on dollar deuces for slightly over 4 grand. Hence mathematically wrong, like every other Ace-Ten royal I've seen online (about 10 total).
But I do also assume these people played more VP than we did. And I did get one great hit at least to keep me close to even. Rather it be on Triple Bonus Plus at TAG though...6 trips in a row while playing at TAG without a premium quad. 7 5-K quads in that time frame. Meh.

M knows that certain places has better VP, but she also needs to be entertained at those places plus she doesn't want to play VP 100% of the time either. Basically many of the better VP places, she doesn't really care for. Also she doesn't play much beyond nickels, so in that case, The Strip is often just "one notch" lower than off-strip at nickels especially if she's willing to play 6/5 Bonus, which she is as long 8/5 DDB doesn't also exist. She'll pick DDB games that are two full house units higher than Bonus (less than 0.2% return difference overall) since she prefers DDB. She is decent at both games and understands the major differences. But considering how risk adverse she generally is...I'm surprised DDB is her favorite. Well, her luck on the game has something to do with it I guess.
And as for tolerance build up...that's all me. M is somewhat allergic to alcohol. She had 1 drink a day max on the trip. She stops after that because she often gets some sort of an allergic reaction.
And thanks again Galeygoo!
