Robbed in parking lot
I'm used to getting robbed in the casino but not in the parking lot. Stopped in the racino over in West Memphis to eat, I had no intentions of playing. I may have been in the restaurant for 45 minutes. My truck was parked right up front of the main entrance where they valet park. My truck was broken to in broad daylight along with other vehicles. I was missing $1,600 contained in folder with some papers and a few misc. items. The head of security said this type of thing rarely happens at the racino, the local police department says that's not true, it happens often there. In over 20 years of playing in Tunica I've never had a problem. The head of security ask if I wanted to call the police and said it could take from 20 minutes to 2 hours for them to respond. It took less than 10 minutes for them to respond. I guess the thing that bothered me more than anything is that security didn't really seem to care, it was business as usual.

So sorry to hear that Ko King...I've heard a lot of stories of crime in the parking garages, people need to be very careful...And casino's need to step up security outside as well. You would think they would want their customers to feel safe anywhere on their property. You can tell by what they told you, they really don't want the police to come and make a report, as it's made public, so to avoid that, step up security! Anyhow, again sorry to hear that.

As much as we'd like to believe that casino security is looking out for us, job one for them is the casino.

Racinos are dumps. Figures there was nobody looking out in the parking lot.

ko I'm sorry to hear of your being victimized such as you were and I completely agree with CBK when he said that the casino would rather had you NOT make out a theft report because it would have been easier to keep quiet and under the rug.

Sorry to hear about the robbery Ko. Unfortunately, can't rely on facility security. Hope your insurance will cover the theft.

That sucks, but perhaps you shouldn't leave large amounts of cash in a unattended car.
