Where is a good place to try and sell my vp mach?
I want to sell the VP machine I bought a few years ago and not sure where the best place to post it would be. I don't think I can post it here as there is a rule about no solicitation. eBay will charge a hefty% and I've never done craigslist. Are there any other boards that might be a good place? I'm going to check out newlife gaming now.
Ideas?
Time to move away from gambling for me.
Thanks,
Roveer

Roveer .... Long time no post!!! I hope you are well...Or well enough at any rate.
First, my empathy on the gambling, and without knowing, or wanting to know the particulars, I am sure you are doing the correct thing. I last indulged in video poker last September in AC, and since avoiding it and focusing on different pursuits and enjoying other games (chess, live poker, historical strategy games), I am honestly more satisfied as well as in possession of a modestly increased amount each month of discretionary income for entertainment!! (I previously budgeted around 1500 dollars a month for VP and casino related expenditures, and had been doing this nonstop from 2009 to 09/2016!) I'm certain you will find similar modest but satisfying improvements to your life as well.....
Regarding the vp machine....What exactly is your issue with selling it on eBay in terms of the percentage that eBay will charge? I'm just asking.... Myself, I find the "cost" more than fair and worthwhile considering what you get in return from doing business on eBay. If it is that much of an issue, and that crucial for you in terms of recouping your cost off of what the machine cost you initially, then you may need to have an honest assessment with yourself over what is more important, namely getting rid of the machine with as little hassle as possible while getting some of your money back, versus getting all of what you want for the machine while dealing with hassles. Only you can answer those questions, but I know that the assurance and convenience eBay offers me is worth a lot more than what they actually collect....Plus they give you recourse if things go south with any sales or purchases.
I hope it all works out for you!!!!

Trouble with selling on ebay is these machines are heavy. Shipping a 75 -100 pound device cost a bloody fortune, if you are not a commercial account.

If you sell an item on eBay and the buyer claims, for whatever reason, that it isn't as described the seller is responsible for return shipping.
That alone stops most experienced sellers from selling heavy items.

Sorry for not getting back.
It's an AllStar Video poker machine which has like 70+ games on it. I remember working with the company I bought it from to customize it to my liking.
Most importantly, it had Super Times Pay 3/5/10 games and UX.
I also customized it to have STP glass on top and bottom display panels.
It has LCD instead of CRT
I also installed a TITO board that allows the tickets that it prints to be re-inserted into the machine for credit. Without this board, the tickets are useless and you had to feed it money in order to get credits to play.
I had a very nice mahogany base made for it so it looks great.
I'll take some pics if anyone wants to see it. It's in perfect condition. I've had it for a few years and really don't play it much any more.
