This morning on day 2 of my trip I hit my first 4 ducks for the first time in my life.. I was delt 2 2 2 Qh 9h.I held all 5 and looked at the screen. I remembered this was a MAJOR MAJOR error. Costing 23$ every time you do it I believe. I held just the duces and it hit.. thank you bob for the training software
In most typical DW variants (paying 1000 credits for 4 deuces), I believe you keep the 3 deuces only UNLESS 1) you have a wild royal, or 2) you have a 5 of a kind, tens through aces.
Because you have a higher chance of drawing a wild royal after throwing away 22-99 than if you throw away TT-AA, since the latter kills two of your possible wild royal cards.

That applies to FPDW only for the quints since 4 of a kind is 25 vs. 20.

Otherwise for all other paytables:
75+ coin quint: Hold
60 or less coin quint: Break
Ah, didn't know that. Learn something new every day. So for a game like, say, NSUD, you hold all 3 deuce-5oaks?

If you are playing quarters your choice is between winning $20 or taking a chance at winning $250. You could also hit a wild royal and walk away with $31.25, another five of a kind, a straight flush or a number of other paying hands. Does VP math matter that much to you when you are playing quarters? Not to me. Probably why I'm not the expert on this forum.
