Re: quick quads
If you have read my previous posts you will know that I play a lot of QQs at Harrahs AC. Each week a least one player will question me as to how to play QQs. Most are totally clueless to what a QQ is. I'm there for the day so I have no problem trying to explain and teach them how to play. But sometimes I run into a player who asks a question, doesn't like the answer and then gets nasty. Thats when I politely ask them not to ask me any more questions. One women was playing 100 hand QQ and thru away a dealt QQ to try and get 4oak.. I didn't say a word.
Sorry she was rude. I wonder how big of a house edge the house gains when you play Quick Quads like standard VP. Probably a lot worse than Ultimate X. Probably one reason the game didn't take off as much as STP, or Ultimate X.
Aw screw it...lets look at the penalty of ditching a dealt quick quad on 9/5 DDB, where quick quads 5-K are 50 for 1 and 2-4s are 80 for 1, shall we?
Quick Quad Ten: TTT9A, TTT82, TTT73, TTT64, TTT55
TTT9A: 4*4*4 = 64 combos
same for the next three: 192 combos
TTT55: 4*6 = 24 combos
Quick Quad Tens: 64 + 192 + 24 = 280 combos
Quick Quad Nine: 9998A, 99972, 99963, 99954
Four possibilities of 64 combos each: 256 combos
Quick Quad Eight: 8887A, 88862, 88853, 88844
Three possibilities of 64 combos each: 192 combos
88844: 4*6 = 24 combos
Quick Quad Eights: 216 combos
Quick Quad Seven: 7776A, 77752, 77743
Three possibilities of 64 combos each: 192 combos
Quick Quad Six: 6665A, 66642, 66633
Two possibilities of 64 combos each: 128 combos
66633: 4*6 = 24 combos
Quick Quad Sixes: 152 combos
Quick Quad Five: 5554A, 55532
Two possibilities of 64 combos each: 128 combos
Quick Quad Four: 4443A, 44422
One possibility of 64 eombos each: 64 combos
44422: 4*6 = 24 combos
Quick Quad Fours: 88 combos
Quick Quad Three: 3332A
One possibility of 64 eombos each: 64 combos
Quick Quad Two: 222AA
222AA: 4*6 = 24 combos
Ignore the full house combos as normal strategy says to hold full houses.

Well this was a lot more work than I thought...
And tossing dealt quick quads cost less than I thought too. Not going to do the math on not holding things like 8885, 7752, etc.

Vman, at Harrahs AC there are 4 QQ machines, 2, hundred hand machines and 2 multi-hand machines. They are the hardest machines to get on in the entire property. There is a gaggle of 7* players that monopolize these machines to no end. On high multipliers days almost impossible to get on. They play long shifts, have the machines capped for breaks, and then wait to pass them on to their friends. All this while dozens of other VP machines in the same area sit ideally by.

Just reminded me of another reason we rarely go to Harrah's, capping of machines. Why drive for a long distance only to find the machines you want to play are off-line for up to 4 hours to placate some player higher on the caste scale. No other casino we frequent engages in such a practice, haven't found anyone put off by not being allowed to hold a machine, and the casinos don't seem to suffer . No wonder CET is in financial difficulty. Why idle potential money making machines. Makes no sense.

I never saw very many machines capped in St. Louis when Harrah's owned them. And I'm shocked Seven Star people are that into Quick Quads. It's not like the games are full pay or anything... Do they give ridiculous mailers back and the Seven Star people realize it?
Shockingly, Harrah's STL successor, Hollywood, ADDED Quick Quads this spring. Only at the quarter thru dollar level though. I've yet to see a single person play it.

Never saw many capped, two, maybe three at most, even one for that mayyer, but that's alot on a bank of ten where every other machine is occupied and people are waiting to play.
