Hmmmmm. Will have to check if I remember tomorrow night Bill. I may have to do another scouting trip anyway about 3 AM. A slot attendant I know well warned me they were pulling one if the 3 remaining DDB quarter machines that pay 800 for bet one on the Royal where DDB has 9/5. Still can get single line 9/6 DDB, but no 800 for bet one. As of now, I plan to split my play with DDB and Bonus Deuces, but that may change a bit.
Can't believe they are pulling full rf on single line 9/5 DDB. Thankfully, I have that here with the progressive rf at some banks. At others just 9/5. Five years ago, the old Ft McDowell casino had 10/6 single line with only the sf reduced. Hopefully, no changes forthcoming. One advantage here, lots of seniors who still play VP.

Most of the VP players here are seniors as well Bill. I can’t remember the last time I saw a 20 something playing VP.
Anyway, we are back from our Wednesday night overnight. Overall, a positive trip just a bit between the two of us. The Mrs and I hit small Royals just seconds apart in different parts of the casino. Hers on Nickel DDB Ultimate X and mine on dollar Bonus Deuces Wild. We both hit early, and unfortunately mine vanished over the rest of the session. The Mrs smartly hung onto hers by just playing a little more then hitting the room to finish her book. My pic is here. Hers coming probably tomorrow. She also got hers times 3 for 12,000 Nickels!! 👍

Quick note Bill. I didn’t have time to walk the floor looking for progressives. Will try to next trip. I found the other 2 Triple Spin Poker 800 For bet one 9/5 DDB still intact in the far end of the casino. I didn’t play them this trip. I did notice they have downgraded further the pay tables in the main high limit area. I know for a fact there were a few VP regulars who had the discipline to nail those 5,10, and 25 dollar 99 percent machines and run. They have course disappeared now, leaving the slot attendants who rely mostly on tips quite discouraged. Interesting on how the bean counters leave some of the 99 percent quarter games alone, yet destroy ( downgrade ) many of them in the high limit areas. Overall, maybe it is just me, but I see a big drop in casino business over the last few months. My local diners I frequent for my late breakfasts have seen a definite downturn in business. It isn’t making the news that much, but record numbers of people are completely maxed out on their credit cards. I will try and stay away from the politics, so let me just say this…..post election, we will see a lot more come out on this. Also, I know for a fact many large and also small employers are planning big layoffs immediately after the election. Some have started already. The last thing I want to say which is indirectly related to the casinos ( coin in ) is I heard today that housing prices have increased in each of the last 15 months at least around here. Entry level homes pretty much do not exist for young couples just starting out.

Thanks Ted. Seems like they don’t mind giving me the small ones once in awhile. 😂

Glad the latest trip was positive for you and Mrs Olds. Congrats on the rfs. It is hard for me to judge casino volume here. For one thing, snowbirds are just beginning to return. Secondly, I go to a new (opened June 2023), quite small casino. There are lots of seniors in my area. I go for a short time between 8:30 and 10:00 pm. I assume most seniors go during the day.

Here is one thing that absolutely amazes me. The casino hold on slots is always right around that 8.2 percent number give or take a tiny bit as far back as you can go. Of course slots and VP are lumped together. Assuming total randomness, how can the casino hold only vary by .2 or so of one percent no matter how far back you go in their disclosures. Even if VP is random and not manipulated somehow, does that mean that the casinos tighten or loosen their regular slot machines to make sure at year end, the hold is as close to 8.2 percent as possible. The State of Ct gets 25 percent of the hold, so they do quite well and being that they tax me at 6-7 percent on gross gambling winnings with no writeoff ability, they do even better. I guess the point I am making is can a totally random system really have casino holds that close for the last 25 years or so???

They destroyed the Caesars AC 99.5% JOB carousel to 6/5. Glad I don't carry baseball bats.
