OMT and Mrs!!!! Better 🍀 I know you have the skills!!
In total, our "free trip" where we paid next to nothing for air fares, accommodations, and food cost us about $7000 - one of our worst trips, financially, in a long, long time.
I think you should give it one more try.

After a really bad trip many years ago, I walked into Mohegan Sun, then up to a machine in the VP area, and noticed that somebody never completed their hand. It was 4 to a Royal in Spades. I held the cards, hit deal and it connected. Great except for one thing. It was a .25 Short Coin. 😬. Oh well. It was a good Omen and the rest of the trip was great.

May I ask, how's your satisfaction with mail offers and comps?
We do not get mail offers, unless you mean email ones. All in all, I would say what we get is OK, but I'm not really wild about them.

I prefer email.

I've gotten some good stuff, but it's hard to maintain stable relationships. Often I start strong, but eventually they cut me to little or nothing. It's a particular hazard for discerning players who are unlikely to show much of a loss.

Also the operators are often schizo. They'll loosen up for a period, and then overcorrect when they realize some players are beating them.

For those reasons, I find it's often preferable to flirt with someone new, even if the apparent benefits aren't obviously superior.

Well, we're not really "off" to Nevada, we are just returned from our most recent Nevada adventure, but I'll post here anyway.

This trip, which included our Seven Star Caesars retreat, started on October 7, with a flight from Buffalo to Reno, via Las Vegas, and ground transportation from Reno to Harrahs Lake Tahoe, for a four night stay. I previously mentioned in the Bizzaro thread that we had a close encounter with a mountain lion on that last leg of the trip.

Our first couple of days there were not very encouraging, at all. We played mostly 10 line 50c video poker in the high limit room (9/6 JOB for me, and 7/5 super aces for my wife) with a bit of triple line $1 8/5 bonus poker thrown in. After those two days, I was down $1700, and my wife, $1300 - total $3000.

We decided that we had better take it easy on day three, and looked for something else (cheaper) to play. Unfortunately, they don't have many good options there at lower denominations, so we settled for (I hate to say it) 25c single line 6/5 bonus poker. And, wouldn't you know it - I hit a royal! My wife did OK, as well, so we decided, since it was our final day there, to give the 10 line 50c games another try. And, it turned out quite well. She played her normal super aces game, and turned in a very nice $1200 profit, while I added $500 to my winnings playing 8/5 bonus poker, thanks mostly to a dealt quad. We were now down only $500 (much more palatable than the $3000 when we started the day).

The next day, we travelled back to Reno for a four nighter at the Silver Legacy. Our three days of play there, mostly at 50 line 5c denomination, but with a small amount of single line 50c NSU deuces, produced lots of highlights, and lowlights such as totally whiffing on a four to the royal draw. My highlights were a dealt straight flush (king high), dealt quad, and hitting four royals on a four to the royal draw, all on 50 line 5c play. I don't have a strong recollection of my wife's highlights, but I do know she cashed out 30,000 credits on one of her really good sessions. When we departed Reno to head for Cactus Petes in Jackpot, Nevada, for a three night stay, we had reduced the team deficit for the entire trip to $50.

Cactus Petes was not very kind to me, at all. My first session there, on 5 line 50c NSU deuces, saw me very quickly (about 45 minutes) down $1000. It did get a bit better after that, but still, at the end of the day, I was down $1200 on only about $6800 coinin. Day two was somewhat better, with a much smaller loss of $150, due mainly to a late four deuces hit. Day three was positive, as all I did was play off my earned slot play and comp dollars (+$250). My wife did considerably better there, hitting three or four sets of deuces, and finishing up around $1200.

We then drove to Las Vegas, where we stayed one night at Circa before flying back to Buffalo on the 19th. I didn't play at Circa at all, but my wife did play a bit of single line 50c bonus poker, dropping $250.

Our return flight to Buffalo was more or less on time, but the first hour or so of it was the most turbulent I've ever experienced. You would have had to be there to appreciate how rough it was.

We finished the trip with a two night stay at Seneca Niagara. We played triple line $1 deuces wild (98.91%). On the first day, we broke even. I was up $1200, hitting two sets of deuces, while my wife was down the same amount, despite a strong start, including a set of deuces, before going into a prolonged tailspin.

I hope you're still with me, because our second day of play at Seneca was the highlight of the entire trip. Within a few minutes of sitting down and starting play, on a two card draw, I hit a royal. It was in clubs, and was on the bottom of the three lines. After I was paid, I left my wife there while I went over to the players club on an errand. When I got back, my wife was sitting there, with a royal, in clubs, on the bottom line, which she got on a two card draw! She had just been paid.

After that, the machines took a considerable amount back, but thanks to that $8000 in royals in something like 10 or 15 minutes, we both finished the trip in positive territory. I was up $1950 for the entire trip, and she was about $1300 ahead. Yea team!

Yes, congrats to you both, OMT. Yea team! The only Seven Stars "Benefit" that I took advantage of so far this year was spending a $100.00 comp at Peter Luger's in Caesars Las Vegas last month. I haven't taken advantage of the retreat or any of the other things. There's always next year.

Congrats again.
