Re: The CS Mindset
It is more like 3% difference between the two. I would play at Hollywood Hard Rock over Beau Rivage no matter how good the comps are at Beau Rivage.
DW44
Airport 25-15-9 = 98.91%
Beau Rivage 20-10-8 = 95.96%
Well stated about the expectations of CS, starting from the beginning allows people to put their mind more at ease.

There is absolutely no point to CS after a $50 loss. A six dollar quad is like coal in your stocking by then. Read the red ink and weep.
There is absolutely no point to CS after a $50 loss
The sweet spot for me is to cash out every time the counter reaches $50. This commonly gives me enough white tickets to go home even. It is extremely rare to go home totally busted using this strategy unless I start moving up in denomination or go on tilt. The hardest thing for a video poker player to do is to walk out even.

I agree. Finding the CS religion after incurring a $50 loss day is rather sad. It's like a wino holding an empty bottle above his mouth for a few drops. The player has already played with fire and was duly torched. I must experiment with the white ticket process! I no longer trust myself to convert them to cash. They'll just be deposited at the next casino on the itinerary that day. I'll either keep wins in ticket form or stash the funds with a checked bag. Either solution stops impulsive behavior cold.

I've thought about hiring a giant gorilla to hold my tickets until I leave for the day. I think it would be cheaper in the long run.

The bell station crew is rather meek. But they do accomplish my objective.

Santa brought us an early Christmas present on late Wed. evening. The Mrs. and I went up to the casino for a late dinner and of course stayed and played for a few hours as well. The Mrs. held her own as usual on her DSTP DDB nickel game hitting Aces at one point and quad 4's with a nice multiplier. Wish I could do that on that game, but that game just doesn't like me at all.
I decided to play real conservative since it is right before Christmas and stick to Single coin quarter play and stick to the Phil method for the evening no matter what not giving in to my very risky Martingale clone. The short version is I played just a quarter at a time on Airport Deuces and was lucky enough to hit quad Deuces twice with 5 in after upping my bet on hits of 4 or more. I gave most of that cash to the Mrs. for safekeeping and told her not to give any back to me that evening. She had no problem at all doing that.
I did decide to keep a hundred and play single coin on a bank of nickel machines with a poor 25/15/10/4/3/2/1 paytable. The only difference would be I would start out with 5 nickels just in case the Royal hit and on hits of 4 or more go all the way up to max bet on the machine which on this bank is 40 nickels. This bank has very comfortable seating. They are old machines, but I used to play nothing but them for years. Also they are in the non smoking Turtle Dome. After a few tries going to max bet, my hundred was down to about 65 bucks. On the next try however, Santa rewarded me again with quad deuces at the max bet of 40 nickels or 8,000 nickels. Turned it over to the Mrs., caught a couple of late night cappuccinos, a nap in the free room the nicely offered, and back home with a very busy schedule for Christmas Eve and day with the folks. This tied my record I set about ten years ago of hitting quad deuces 3 times in one evening. I didn't drop a gold coin into the Salvation army bucket the next morning, but I did get a big smile and thank you from the lonely soul manning the bucket with most busy shoppers walking right past him.
