We didn’t get UHF until we replaced our failing Crosley black-and-white TV. When we did get it we had to turn it in kind of like a radio dial I think we got two or three stations at the time. It used to be fun though going to RadioShack and testing the vacuum tubes with the special machine they had We had to do that for both our radio and TV. As to the to the test pattern, sometimes rather than go to bed my brother and I would watch it for a few minutes even though it did absolutely nothing but sit there and make a kind of a humming whining noise

And heading to the local television repair shop or hardware store to pick up a replacement tube that blew? Ahh, the good 'ole days.....

We used to call my dad Mr. Fix it. Lots of knowledge and common sense being the chief/head flight inspector 35 years. Many times if he couldn’t get a part, he would make it. If he didn’t have or couldn’t get a certain tool, he would make that too. Ask me to build you a working radio with no batteries or electricity and I will send you the plans. Luckily, some of his genius I did absorb. At least 10 percent I hope.

Taking a week or two off. Back in the red again I don’t see any regular video poker players left where I play. Not sure what’s going on but I will give the casino a couple of weeks to think about it. Not that they care

Have a nice vacation. As I posted elsewhere, as you know, I had my best session in many years after my 4 week hiatus from VP. Hope you are equally successful when you return to battle the VP machines.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 9:39 pmTaking a week or two off. It’s not like you will miss the massive Wolf Den glass sculpture. Even regulars prefer seasonal summer activities. I will still pursue my hit and dunk in the ocean dream. Perfect time for it. It just feels likelier at Borgata too.

Lots of family stuff going on too and family and friends in from out of state. Also I don’t like the Covid Delta news at all. Especially today. Read about Miami, Missouri, Mississippi, California, even Ny and Ct creeping up and the new worry is vaccination protections may be wearing off already.
