Re: Single coin vs. max coin play
Single coin dollar play has many advantages. Except for the royal, the jackpots are nearly the same as max coin quarter play. The cost per hand is .25 cents less per hand, the comps are nearly the same and $1 odds are often better than quarters. All this is obvious. The rest of this post is the stuff that drives math folks crazy. Increasing your bet needs to be done with the rhythm of the game in order to be effective. I found this to be true which is why CS calls for a max coin bet after every 4 coin win. In DW, the wild cards seem to come in spurts. CS takes advantage of this by allowing you to play max coins while this is in full swing. Add in the advantage of the 1000 coin quad deuce jackpot and you can see how CS synchronizes your increased bet to your advantage. CS does not predict when a jackpot will occur, it allows you to be in a better financial position if it does.I have never done well by increasing my bet unless it was done in rythm with the game. You can not guess when these runs will happen, you need to let the game tell you. As I've stated many times, CS works best with wild card games. I tried it extensively with quad based games and it doesn't work as well because their is no pattern to a quad appearance. DW is different in this regard. Before someone jumps in and calls me a liar or says I'm giving out dangerous information, let me remind them this is the recreational forum and anything goes here. I don't use CS anymore because I have decided to limit my play to better games, but I have not lost my faith in it's effectiveness in certain situations.

Yes, I have learned my lesson many times that you cannot force a good hand to come in by betting more on a losing streak. I just wish Sister Mary was here with the knuckle cracking ruler sitting next to me at the machine if I attempted such a feat again. . Since Phil has obviously got the math folks in a tither again, , I will add to fuel by stating how I have seen the really good hands appear after the joker keeps appearing close together in the joker kings game.
That said, I think for Phil, the CS method or as I call it the Phil method would work even better on the 99% games that Phil is seeking out. If it were me, and it could be me if I had the b.... to attempt it, I would play 5 coin quarters or dollars as a starting point in DW and on hits of 4 or more, hit the max button which at Mohegan Sun is 25 units on most games. That way, no matter when the Royal hits, you get paid the correct amount. I don't know if that is an option where Phil is playing, but if it is, it would be a good way for the math folks to have no argument at all since no matter what Phil or I was betting, we would get paid the 800 for 1 if the Royal hits. Just curious if the machines for Airport Deuces out west allow up to 25 units bet as do many of the machines at Mohegan Sun. Have a good, rewarding, and healthy weekend all....Olds....
Since Phil has obviously got the math folks in a tither again
I don't think they are, but it was a preemptive strike just in case. Lurkers are ready to ponce on anything that doesn't fit into their paradigm. If you have the bankroll, I think CS would work great with max coin play. You would need to exit the game and switch between denominations, but that might have the added bonus of slowing you down a bit and you wouldn't give up the royal bonus. I tried it at the Hollywood Hard Rock a few weeks ago and hit two max coin wild deuces for $125 each within a minute. That's equal to one max coin quarter quad deuce and it was much appreciated.

Just to stir the pot a bit further, the lurking to strike comment for those who find something that doesn't fit their agenda, sounds just like the Democrats to me. . So now that the cauldron is boiling.....

It does work with quad based JOB, but to a lesser predictive degree, which is an acceptable cost for a lower variance game I suppose. The game does speak to us. When the clarity is sufficient, I try and ride the rhythm to a quad.

Have you had too many comp cocktails, Olds? My machines don't have a 25 unit option, so I don't know what you're talking about. I'd have to switch whole hog from quarters to dollars, then hit max, which would be a twenty quarter unit bet. I've not had the nerve to pull this stunt as yet. But it's been going okay. I may gather the nerve tomorrow. That would set me up for some fine dining.

This is the part I've apparently been missing all my life. Can you elaborate? What are the signs?

Phil and I have a certain facility with the machines' sometimes muffled elocution. In comparison, I am still in the Grasshopper phase. But we share the gift.

To FAA...no cocktails for me while playing at Mohegan. It is hard enough to keep from making mistakes especially when one of your favorite waitresses stops by with your water or coffee for a brief chat... . To Onemoretry...I think I posted very recently what the signs of a good hand about to hit are. At least for me. On deuces as Phil has stated, it is the multiple deuces appearing in hands close together. In job, it is the slow drain on your bankroll slowly starting to reverse itself by giving you small good hands. Do I pay attention...yes..do I act accordingly and up my bet..very rarely. Also to FAA...Yes you and Phil are the duke and king of cs play...I tend to get the presents, but have them wrapped up, put back in the box, ribbon and bow put back on, and restocked for the house or another player. Heading back up there tonight very late after I spend some more time with the folks. I will have the Mrs. with me and she will just have to fill in for sister Mary with the knuckle busting ruler if I get out of line. I already packed my bandaids.

Hope all goes well. I will try to coax a couple of quads out of AC today.
