Re: The CS Mindset
Congratulations! What is the 2222 trio sum? Hard to grasp for newbies.
4 deuces with 5 quarters in pays 1,000 quarters or 250 bucks. Hit that twice. The hit on the 8,000 nickels pays 400 bucks. The Mrs. is still holding it thank goodness or much of it might have been gone that evening. Put a two percent dent or so in the 2015 losses. Hopefully, I finally learned my lesson this year. I thought I had learned it last year. Looking forward to tomorrow if all is well with the folks. Have a good concert booked, some dinner plans with friends, and probably play just a little. For any of those who remember WW11 or even the history about it, I have ration coupons I can use with the Mrs. to release a pittance of the winnings for tomorrow's play.

Something I've noticed at some of the casino's here in Colorado - they have set their single coin quarter poker so you have to play a minimum of 4 coins. If you hit the 'bet one" button, it will automatically play 4. At that point, you might as well just play all 5.

The Tampa Hard Rock tried this a couple of years ago , then changed it back when players quit playing. It's not common right now, but it's coming to a casino near you. I would never play at a casino that did that or reduced the royal flush payout for 5 coins. If this becomes the standard, I will stop playing video poker and find something else to do with my recreation dollars.

Wow. First I've heard of this practice being current. Phil had mentioned it I recall a while back. But it was rescinded so I never gave it another thought. Kfed, good luck with the Colorado Con! If they try it in AC they may as well put in slots. I won't go anywhere near them.

Very interesting. They want to collect a dollar per play no matter what. I never seen the single bet disabled, if that happens, FP is right, not many people will even play as most of them play 30 or 40 cents a spin off the slot machine. A $1.25 a round would be insane to them when they think hitting a Royal Flush is at impossible odds.
It does not look like it will happen in my area where the casinos are flourishing. Plenty of players to fund them. If it did happen I'd have to find more ways to spend time in Vegas. Going on a casino trip to play for a few hours does take up a big chunk of a day.
As competitive of a casino market is in Vegas, I strongly think the first casino in Vegas to do this will probably be the first one to lose a bunch of players or even go defunct.
Edited to add: For obvious reasons, the newer slot machines that come in have a minimum of 30-50 cents a play to weed out people who just bet 1 line on an older slot and just play for a long time. If someone wants to play they truly need to have the budget to play.

If I continued to patronize casinos with those terms, you can bet on more time at the craps table for moi.
