How many similar results with a "TINY" sample size would be required to be meaningful?
New machines unplayable.

You can take 1, 9, 99 or 999 samples that agree with your premise and come to any conclusion you want, if you also choose to ignore the samples/people that disagree with your point.
You can also just not play that machine, like you said. Nobody will hold that against you.

Is it a negative EV game? If so, I don't blame you for never playing it again.stevel96a1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 5:51 pmthats funny, everyone else tiny tiny sample size seems to correspond with mine 9 other samples equals one decent size , im not going to continue to play that machine

its just stands out to me how a 97.35 bonus poker machine lasted an hour 30min with 725 credit line and
a 96.89 bonus poker (both being 6/5 but the 97.35 pays 175 for all 4oak) lasted a solid 3hour on a 400 credit line, this is not the first time something like that has happened or 2nd, i didnt keep a mental note but the bad taste was there, again i know very well losing on both older and newer machines can occur but the likelyhood just seems higher on newer model maybe thats just me or maybe others found the same findings, 1 4oak within a 725 bankroll was bad enough the nail in the coffin was the dry spell not hitting a 2 pair/3 of a kind run i think thats what did me in ultimately.
im switching back to 97% DW and the casino i play at has the best comps then any casino on the planet

Long term approaches infinity. I have two instances of no Royals of over 600,000 hands each time. Sounds impossible, but it happened. Even that in the big picture is short term. Some people never hit a Royal in their lifetime and zillions of hands. Well, maybe hundreds of thousands. That said, the new machines do seem different to me. I play 2 million hands a year. I think the win cycles are compressed and the losing cycles longer than the old nachines. Hopefully, the end results will be the same.

that may or may not be true, i personally like my game short and sweet, i like ending a winner. and i dont like frequent dry spells during a session , sure a 1 card held royal flush maybe waiting around the corner on these type of newer models but again not what im going for a i like that slow stair case to ruin oppose to a falling off a cliff and come back to life with 1 card held, give me that 3 to the royal anytime on older machine!
i believe the model older machine video poker is 2009 model or older thats when casino open the doors
and i believe the newer machine has blackjack/keno/slots/and off video poker type games and i haven't seen that type of machine (machine selection) since this year in january , while the older machine is just 6 choices of video poker thats it, for all i know the newer model could be older than the model that justs poker however they do certainly on a different RNG engine atleast thats my belief and it corresponds to my bankroll lifespan more times than not

All I know is, on older machines I have gotten my ass kicked very quickly before too, while my wife sitting next to me on the same game had the opposite experience. This is why there are also rumors about "machines at the end of the row" or in the non-smoking section, or whatever else. It's natural to attribute our bad luck to things other than randomness. I think it's easy to be superstitious and I think most of us are in some ways, even if we don't really "believe" it. I certainly have games and places I avoid, simply because I haven't done well there. It doesn't mean I think they are rigged to perform worse, it's just my personal experience and I feel better moving on.
