My 2023 was my second worst loss ever. I had job sessions that were quadless and no hand pays since early September. My w-2g totals are 20 percent of an average year. Luck is the name of the game most sessions. To top it off, my coin in is about the same as any other year.

I'm surprised your coin in was the same because it seems you're often talking about dropping down and only bringing a small bankroll.

I have dropped down, but sometimes on nickels and dimes on Martingale, the bets can get up to 5 or 10 bucks. Also played a lot or single line quarters and dollars throughout the year. I still can’t believe no hand pays since 9/19. Only 9 for the year. I usually average about 30. Next trip will be tomorrow with the Mrs. I am going to start out in the nickel spin, but if the bets get too high and I haven’t hit, I am going to play “ my machine”. Bonus Deuces at a buck a shot. Probably not go up to 2 bucks unless I lose 50 times my bet. That’s a long time to wait, but I don’t like these long dud streaks. The remaining Vp players are all saying the same thing. I hope it is just coincidence. I would hate to think otherwise.

You've been on repeat about this for at least TEN YEARS!

I am beginning to take a survey of regular VP players at Mohegan Sun on a few things. For one, other than myself, a number of regular players are averaging well over 100k hands between Royals for extended periods. In addition, the dud rate appears to keep popping up mostly on the 9/6 JOB machines much more often than I am comfortable with. It is not unusual at all now to see 25 or more consecutive duds on these machines. Sometimes, one break even hand pops up, then the extended dud pattern just resumes.

I haven't tried this method with JOB because I am just not comfortable with what I am seeing, and since I am averaging 15-20k hands/week, I do see a lot of wierd stuff as well as get plenty of feedback from other players. Gone are the days when an entire row of VP machines would light up with multiple nice hits by 4 or 5 patrons in the same 15 minute period.

Ten years of nearly full-time play, and you still have no conclusions about anything. It's always: "Something doesn't seem quite right. I hope I'm wrong."

How about you invite some of the other dud victims onto the board to flesh this out? Registration is free, and we're a friendly bunch.

I'll do anything to break out of my dud cycle. It's been thirteen months since my short coin RF charade. Serenity now! I do tend to favor this: "BDeuces at a buck a shot. Not go up to 2 bucks unless I lose 50 times my bet. That’s a long time to wait, but I don’t like these long dud streaks." If you can't win, at least cap the damn losses.

AP is already here. I have mentioned the site. Most didn’t know about it. Some people just don’t have the time or the interest I guess. Yes I know it sounds like a broken record AP has noticed it too. Some of the other players only comment with 4 letter words. There really aren’t that many die hards left up here. Some have passed or are too old to travel anymore.

We're hanging on to old memories of triumph. We must deal with what's real. Same great tables, but no actual winning. It's a brutal reckoning to come to terms with. The most sensible option is to never play above the quarter denomination for me. A show stopper for dedicated high card level players.
