Glad Mrs Olds (and you) had a happy birthday. Glad you both came out ahead.

Did you "luck out" with Hurricane Lee?

Hope this hasn't been asked already. Why is it that your wins are skillful, but her wins are lucky?olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 10:00 amShe just seems to have that Irish knack for beating up on inferior pay tables.
Does she employ any strategic techniques?

Yes lucked out with the Hurricane, but parts of Canada not so lucky. As to the Mrs, she does have that Luck of the Irish I believe. She also has the fortitude to wait them out for 8 hours or even more. She manages to do that more often than not on Triple play DDB Ultimate X even with 8/5 or 7/5 paytable. She says without the multiplier, it does not work and she has tried it. Sometimes, even on Nickels, she will get down 300 or 400 in a session before she hits. I have no real idea other than luck how she does with awful paytables. She does not vary her bet though betting 1.50 a deal. 5 plus 5 per line. She also goes against the math sometimes which makes me crazy. For instance, she will keep 3 unsuited high cards with the Ace preventing a shot at a quad and sometimes goes for inside straights.
. She says going against the math in a few areas keeps her from busting as she gets nore small wins. She also knows better than me when to quit getting out near the top of a sine curve. She has better discipline than I do in that regard. I have tried just a few times playing like she does and I get burned.

As to keeping the 3 high cards unsuited, it would just be AKQ, AKJ.

I've tangled occasionally with UX when forced by circumstance. As I recall, straights go up in value because they earn an 8x next-hand multiplier. Therefore it's often correct imo to hold an inside straight draw.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 11:12 amFor instance, she will keep 3 unsuited high cards with the Ace preventing a shot at a quad and sometimes goes for inside straights..
Also I think the 3 unsuited highs is less of a mistake with the UX bet activated, compared to regular 5-coin 8/5 or 7/5 DDB.

My last trip a few days ago cleaned out the rest of my big 8/8 jackpot. Usually in a situation like a big jackpot, all the casino has to do is sit back and wait a bit and that is exactly what happened. The last trip was dollars only on multi line Bonus Duces Wild. It just got into a bad cycle where few deuces were dealt and even when they were, few connected. Sooooo it is back to the drawing board once again. I will have to switch back to quarters, go back to regular deuces wild, and slow down the Clone possibly so far down that I will wait until I have lost 200 times my bet lost before I advance my bet. The game on single line will give me a just under 99 percent return long term, but should be just over 100 percent with perfect play, free play throw in, and a possible achievement award landed depending on how many tier points I earn in a single gaming day.
We plan on heading up early tomorrow evening. Will be curious to see if the Mrs still does ok too on her 97 percent nickel game without any free play or other benefits thrown in.
One last thing, millions of hands later, I have found that after a huge disaster without Royals or quad deuces, good hands will appear early in a session on the next trip. Guess we will see if that holds.

Thanks! Guess we will see. Most important is to stay safe and well all. We have lost 4classmates and 2 retirees and former friends and co workers just in the last 2 weeks. Prayers to all out there too.
