My wife has a different approach and always gets some if not all of her free play out of the machine. She keeps a running total in her head of all win and push hands. When that total equals the remaining credits in the machine, she cashes out. That money stays separate from bankroll play money. She usually get about 3/4 of the free play out if no quads are hit. Not bad at all.

I do great on FP. Never retain it, of course.

Last Saturday on $10 free play at Silverton - cashed out at $110.25. Last night on $10 free play at Silverton - cashed out at $64.00. They have a bank of 6 single line 9/6 DDB machines near the steakhouse. These are the best machines on the floor. Not sure about high limit though.

I have had questions about this. Thanks to anyone, BD or BR or anyone else, who has some insight. Some casinos will not allow FP to be played off on VP machines. What is your choice, general or specific, of slot machines to use in this case. If FP is allowed on VP, I generally use it on the best schedule of 25 cent machines to avoid taxable situations. My FP amounts usually run from $10-$50.

I play my free play on video blackjack machines. I cycle it thru once and pocket the profits. Then I play as if the FP never happened.
Due to my travels, Vegas FP has dropped precipitously.

I'd be at least break even each trip just playing FP and abandoning casinos for AC tourism. But after 1-2 hours, it's lucky to avoid a triple digit loss. You stay, you pay. I would have been +$4 today, but ended -$30. You're welcome, Caesars. (All is net transportation.)

Oh, yes! I have overheard them issue warnings to accrue 5 TCs, so $250 coin in at max pay tables to call off the dogs. Hit it and quit it.

My regular game is DD muli hand - I use my freeplay for something I wouldn't normally do - like ultimate x or triple double. I usually play until it's gone.
