Re: Video Pokeritis??
Thanks to you both Ed and Shadow for the sound advice. If the problem still persists, I'll go get checked out. I think I just need to suck it up and play fewer sessions both at the casino and computer. I've been hitting both pretty hard lately and a little break will probably do me some good.
Thanks again for your insight and concern.

Again Aces, it's not to pick on you or anything like that. It would be nice to hear you hit some big jackpot not with both arms wrapped up mummy style!

Not a problem Ed. I didn't take it that way at all. Fact is I've been known to be very stubborn when it comes to doctors!! If I'm not bleeding severely or unconcious, I usually stick it out! LOL! Didn't say it was a good thing..........
And I'll take a jackpot anyway I can get it!! I'll put my mojo mummy curse on that machine and it will start spitting out $1000 tickets!!

You know whats sad Aces, LOTS of Americans go everyday with lots of aches and pains forgoing seeing an MD in favor of popping some meds. Thats why theres such a market for painkillers. Maybe we're in the wrong business?

I've been experiencing sharp pains and cramps in my right wrist and hand (playing hand) the last couple of weeks.
Didn't you know Video Poker is considered a contact sport? Just think about it. Video poker has the potential for minor injuries along with various other maladies such as mental exhaustion, mental aguish
and zero bankroll balance syndrome. This is not the whole list but it does include some of the more common ailments.
Just kidding! But seriously, I always can feel it after a long session and I have had some duzzies. I don't get it in the wrist but I do get it in the arms and shoulders from playing those darn upright machines. It sounded like Mike had some good advise for the wrist ailments. Good luck with curing them. I like to use Aleve and a hot shower after those long sessions.
Enjoy your youth while you have it. I am almost 45 and the last 10 years have been the least kind. I shudder to think about the next ten...

Thanks clwn2 for chiming in. The wrist is getting better! I've been taking it easy on the computer practice and its helped. Also, last weekend at the casino I used a wrist brace and it helped to prevent any further "damage" LOL. Just need to let it heal I think. But everyone's suggestions have also helped out.
And ED, you are right in that we are in the wrong business!! Hey..........remember the days before every other commercial was trying to tell you to take "this" prescription? You have this "syndrome". Now it seems most people go to the doctor and TELL them what drug they need to take because BIG PHARMA advertising told them so. It's crazy in my opinion.
It's no wonder they have grade schoolers taking meds for everything under the sun. ADD.......please! Turn off the TV, and go outside and ride a bike, do something that will expend some energy! Every kid is "hyper" at that age!
Not to mention some of the side effects of these drugs! May cause nausea, vomiting, explosive diarhea, headaches, irregular heartbeat, muscle aches, drowsiness, increased gambling (LOL), sexual dysfunction, blood clots, oh and sometimes DEATH!! You need another drug to counteract the side effects !
Sorry, my rant for the day!

AWAK, So glad your wrist is better! My fingers are also doing great with no further action needed. Dr had drawn an oval to represent my wrist with two close parallel ovals inside. The space between the inner ovals represented the carpal tunnel area that gets inflamed from over-use and causes pain. Once, a friend, who never drives out of town, begged me to take her to a casino on my next expedition. Ten minutes into the casino, I hit a $1600 jackpot but by the time we had agreed to leave, my jackpot had a HUGE dent. I would have left sooner with more money had my friend not been with me. I learned from that experience to casino alone unless my husband is with me. So when a friend was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons, it was a "sacrifice" on my part to invite her to a casino to help cheer her. I knew she adored trips to Vegas with a neighbor until her neighbor died. She said she was warned not to go near casinos because one of the meds she is on for Parkinsons could enhance gambling addiction. This was the second most preposterous thing I ever heard ( the first being clwn2's leaving $700 under a casino room mattress! ) but she was very serious. Happy day to all!
